The bald guy was excited, not just physically but mentally. Kidnapping Tang Guo, the only daughter of Tang Buyi, the chairman of Tang Group, was the biggest job they'd taken on this year. If successful, the reward would be enough for a long spree of indulgence. After days of planning and preparation, tonight was the night. On top of that, the woman beside him was getting better at her job, making him feel like he was floating.
Just as he was soaring with joy, the poor kid in the car ahead, whom he hadn't taken seriously, stood up and smiled at him in the car's headlights, revealing a set of fairly neat teeth, before throwing something at him.
The bald guy sneered. The car had specially reinforced windshield glass; did the kid think a water bottle could break it?
No sooner had this thought crossed his mind than the water bottle crashed into the windshield. The glass groaned under the pressure and then shattered with a loud bang, shards flying everywhere.
A shard of glass embedded itself in the bald guy's eye, making him howl in pain. The woman working on him screamed as well, her cries blending with the car's screeching. The car veered toward the cliff, but the bald guy managed to steer it away at the last second, crashing into the rocky mountainside instead.
Tang Guo's Ferrari drove on for a while before reversing and stopping near the crashed Porsche.
"Are they dead?" Tang Guo asked, her mouth agape, staring at the motionless Porsche with small flames flickering at the front.
"I don't know," Ye Qiu was puzzled. Were city folks this fragile, getting killed by a water bottle?
"You killed someone."
"I didn't mean to."
"What now?"
"I'll go back to Liu Village."
"—" Tang Guo wanted to strangle this beast. Kill someone and just run? What about me? Are you even a man?
As Tang Guo fumed and imagined all sorts of unpleasant scenarios, the people in the car began to move.
The bald guy lifted his head, his bloodshot eyes fixed on Ye Qiu in the Ferrari. He looked at the unconscious woman beside him, a large bruise forming on her forehead. During the accident, she hadn't even had time to react, having not worn a seatbelt to facilitate her work.
Bang!
The bald guy kicked the car door open, pushing the woman aside, and jumped out of the Porsche. This car belonged to his boss, loaned to him for this mission. With the car wrecked, he had to complete the job, or he'd be in deep trouble.
"Bang—get out of the car, both of you," the bald guy banged on the Ferrari's hood and shouted.
Tang Guo, who cherished her car, was infuriated by his rough treatment. "Who are you? Why should we get out just because you say so? I refuse!"
The bald guy sneered, pointing at Tang Guo, "Bitch, do you know where you are? This is Wolf Mountain. The road behind us is blocked; no one's coming to help. If I rape you here, no one will stop me. Now get out."
Tang Guo, who had never been insulted like this, was nearly fainting with anger. "Ye Qiu, he—he called me a bitch!"
"I heard," Ye Qiu nodded.
"—then why are you just sitting there? You're my bodyguard. Go beat him up!" Tang Guo, tears welling up, demanded.
"Okay—but what if I kill him?" Ye Qiu asked uncertainly.
"Then you go to jail," Tang Guo blinked her large, beautiful eyes at Ye Qiu. "Don't worry, I'll take care of your family, and I'll visit you in prison if I can."
Tang Guo recalled this scene from a movie, mimicking the promise.
The bald guy couldn't believe the scrawny Ye Qiu was Tang Buyi's hired bodyguard. The world was going crazy. Was the chairman of Tang Group out of his mind?
Doubtful of Ye Qiu's abilities but cautious, the bald guy pulled out a gun and pointed it at Ye Qiu. "Get out first."
"Okay," Ye Qiu said, pushing the door open and stepping out.
"Put your hands up."
Ye Qiu hesitated, "One hand or both?"
Pfft!
Tang Guo stifled a laugh. If the situation weren't so serious, she'd be rolling on the floor. She realized the beast had a cute side.
The bald guy, thinking Ye Qiu was mocking him, grew angrier. "Shut up, or I'll shoot you, you bumpkin. Squat and put your hands on your head."
Ye Qiu complied, squatting and placing his hands on his head.
So obedient?
The bald guy couldn't believe his eyes. He had expected some badass pretending to be weak. But looking at Ye Qiu's age, clothes, and frail frame, he suspected Tang Guo was bluffing, calling him a bodyguard to scare him.
Too bad. Even if he were a bodyguard, she wasn't escaping tonight.
"Now, bitch, your turn to get out," the bald guy pointed the gun at Tang Guo, smirking.
"Do you know who I am?" Tang Guo, pale with anger, retorted.
"Of course. Tang Group's princess. I'm here for you. Stop wasting time and get out," the bald guy waved the gun. When her phone rang, he snatched it and smashed it on the ground.
Tang Guo, realizing the severity of the situation, was terrified. If they knew who she was and still dared to point a gun at her, they must be confident.
Kidnapping? The thought made her breathless.
