But the gold token will show the mission,as in progress and number of people took the mission until it's completed,so if anyone tried to filter the tasks based on region they will be able to see tasks regarding to that region and the people who can accept the tasks must be within the range of a So they should move near the OceanCrest kingdom border before accepting the tasks.
As for why they were targeted in an indirect way rather than the enemy attacking them directly and killing is is because there are rules in Eclipta a genius of an generation can only be killed of someone of same generation or the later generation ,or if he is the first one to attack you, you can fight back and kill him,So as a rank 8 warrior it is , difficult for the enemy to find someone of same strength and age and it is further difficult to convince these geniuses to act as an assassin , unless you provide them the resources they required,So they can make him travel to the border and kill him with out evidence or killing in the ocean if he intends to travel other regions.
But ,Even if there are such rules it is always easy for a people in great power to manipulate the truth, thus there are stories of geniuses falling in a deep forest or in sea,so Jonathan and Andrew have always choose a task with location which will take them less than three or four hours of travel to a near town or a city, thus they were not attacked by them, but still they have faced 2 to 3 assassin attempt from the gold rank assassin of assassin hall.
The assassin hall is similar to the mercnary hall,the only difference is they earn merit through killing the people.
Andrea and Emily had a grim face throughout the conversation,as they moved to the outer hall Andrea said to Jonathan with pleading look "Why, don't you guys do as Alex said"

Eventhough the quartz rat have no combat power,it is still difficult to locate it's location underground,so only earth affinity warrior can track its exact location,So The mission will be posted 1 or 2 times a month and for every rat killed by him he will get 10 merit points and the star beast carcass has to be given to Rey,as there are less earth affinity user he always have 4 or 5 kills a day which earned him 3800 mission points during his 3 years.
So with his current progress he will earn maximum 100 points a month, but Eldryn will earn minimum 200 points in a month which made him more embarassed than upset .
"Good" Emily said with a smile to the both and then said to Amelia "you, can come and select your tasks when your brother come to submit his task"
Amelia nodded in reply.
"You guys wait here I have to buy something in the front desk, meanwhile you guys can check on the bronze rewards "Jonathan said to Eldryn and the other five before moving towards the front desk.
