Eldryn returned to his room and started to organize the information he received from Emily and after seeing the lifelike pattern on the first common rank fire talisman drawn by Emily for some time, Eldryn started to draw the pattern on the talisman paper,
Since it was his first time using the talisman brush, he depleted his fire star power twice before successfully drawing the pattern, and then he used the brush steadily to draw talisman
After that came the difficult task of completely drawing a pattern on the talisman paper. Eldryn began by drawing his first common-rank talisman, the Fire Spark, which consists of a total of five patterns.
Eldryn spent the entire evening drawing the Fire Spark talisman. After failing about 12 times to form the complete five-pattern design, he finally succeeded by learning from the mistakes he made during those attempts.
After finishing his first talisman, Eldryn cried out in excitement. He then recalled how he had created it, calmed his mind, and began drawing the same talisman again to see if he could reproduce the results.
And during this time he have created 7 talisman out of his 10 attempts.
After placing the successfully created talisman aside, Eldryn began practicing the second talisman, which also had five patterns. This time, he achieved better results, creating the talisman on his fourth attempt. Eldryn continued practicing until he made six different types of talismans, using up all the talisman paper his aunt had given him.
"It's almost 11. I should take a nap. Tomorrow morning, if my aunt gives me some pointers and I have enough talisman paper, I might be able to create more than 10 types of talisman" Eldryn thought to himself. He took the successfully created talisman and a book in which he had written the difficulties he faced and how he overcame them, thinking that his aunt might have different solutions that could be very helpful for drawing other patterns.
The next day
After clearing up some doubts for Nathan and Amelia, Emily asked Eldryn with a smile, "Eldryn, how is your progress in talisman making? Have you made any progress?"
Eldryn nodded and took out the talisman he had created, as well as the book in which he had recorded the difficulties he encountered during the talisman creation.
Emily was surprised to see the stack of successfully created talismans. Smiling, she reviewed them, then took the book and explained where Eldryn could have used better methods to achieve a higher success rate.
Eldryn, it's very good that you've written down the methods you used to overcome your failures in talisman creation. Since you've created six types of talismans, I'll teach you three more by this evening. I'll also check your progress to help me develop new training methods for you," Emily said with a proud smile.
Eldryn nodded with a smile, then suddenly remembered something and looked at his aunt, saying, "But I don't have any talisman paper." Emily replied with a smile, "No need to worry. In the mercenary hall, non-standard talisman paper and common talismans can be sold for money. I'll have Nathan exchange some for you. In the meantime, you can practice with the remaining talisman paper I have." She then took out around 20 sheets of non-standard talisman paper and handed them to Eldryn.
As Eldryn practiced his talisman drawing, Nathan arrived with around 300 sheets of non-standard talisman paper, which he had exchanged for the common-rank talismans created by Eldryn.
Eldryn practiced with Emily until 3 in the evening, making remarkable progress and creating 8 types of common-rank talismans. Seeing his advancement, Emily said with a smile, "With your progress, you should be able to create all 25 types by tomorrow. You can leave the successful ones here; I'll have Nathan exchange them for more non-standard talisman paper for you."
Eldryn nodded and walked to his room to start talisman creation. Days passed quickly, and today Andrea would come out of her cultivation seclusion. During this time, besides cultivating near the blaze petal flowers in the mornings and tending to the rank 8 and rank 9 petal plants, Eldryn spent most of his time studying talismans.
Thus, over the following four days, Eldryn made significant progress and created all 25 types of talismans using wood and metal elements.
Not much changed due to Andrea's seclusion. She advised Eldryn not to neglect his cultivation and provided insights into his talisman-making doubts, which he recorded in his book, before returning to her seclusion.
It had been 11 days since Emily came out of seclusion. During this time, Eldryn had been learning about common-rank talismans from her. Today, he completed his study of all 25 types of talismans corresponding to the five elements: fire, earth, water, metal, and wood.
"Eldryn, since you've learned the common-rank talismans of the five elements, you can start creating rank 1 talismans. However, this knowledge alone won't be enough to create every type of rank 1 talisman," Emily said with a smile as she handed him a book
"This book contains the common-rank talisman runes for light, dark, wind, time, space, and other elements. You can continue studying them as you practice the 9th rank talismans," Emily said. "Now, you can go and relax tomorrow, focusing on things other than talismans. I will teach you 9th rank talismans the day after tomorrow."
"Remember, every pattern in higher-rank talismans is an evolution of the patterns in lower-rank talismans, so you should try to learn them properly as they will form your foundation," Emily advised him
"Ok, Aunt " Eldryn replied and hesitated to speak .Seeing his reaction, Emily said with a smile, "I know what you're thinking. As I mentioned, I will teach you three 9th rank fire pattern talismans, which each contain 18 patterns. You can also earn merit points by completing these talismans in the mercenary hall."
Eldryn nodded, his excitement evident. He was eager to learn the 18-pattern talismans, which signified mid-rank 9 talismans. According to his aunt, talismans are rated based on their star patterns. Drawing a 36-star pattern talisman, the peak rank 9 talisman, would mark one as a rank 9 talisman master.
"But Aunt, won't it be tough to learn mid-rank 9 talismans right from the start?" Eldryn asked with concern.
"Don't worry; drawing 9-star and 18-star patterns won't differ much in the talismans I'm going to teach you," Emily assured him with a smile.
Eldryn went to his room and had a good, long sleep during these 12 days
The next day, Eldryn went to the Mercenary Hall alone to submit his mission task, as Nathan was on a mission in Uncle Rey's herb garden and Amelia was busy preparing talisman paper. After submitting the mission, his merit point balance rose to 1,705, and his merit points totaled 2,905. He then selected the same repetitive tasks before walking out of the Mercenary Hall.
A Day passed, and today Emily began teaching Eldryn the three types of 9th rank talismans: Firestorm, Emberstorm, and Flamebound.
"Aunt, I have a simple question. Which type of talisman fetches more money—attack, defense, or auxiliary?" Eldryn asked with a somewhat embarrassed smile
Hearing this, Emily smiled in amusement before explaining, "It depends on the situation and the person's needs. However, generally, auxiliary talismans tend to have a higher cost, though lower-cost talismans can also fall under this category."
Why is that?" Eldryn asked.
"Have you seen the merits required to buy low-grade fire star stones and other elements? If you compare them to mid-grade fire star stones, you'll notice the difference," Emily continued. "For example, a low-grade fire star stone might cost around 10 low-grade star stones, but a mid-grade fire star stone can cost 200 or more mid-grade star stones. This is because there are arrays and talismans for creating low-rank fire and other star element stones, making the price lower for those. Now you can understand the impact of auxiliary talismans.
"Okay, I guess that's enough for now. Once you've mastered all the common-rank talismans and their patterns, I'll explain these details to you. For now, I will teach you the Flamebound, Emberstorm, and Firestorm talismans ,Let's check your comprehension and progress on the rank 9 talismans
" Emily said as she began to explain the 9th rank talisman patterns.
Eldryn's life was once again focused on learning about talismans, and his efforts paid off when he successfully created the Flamebound talisman on the last day before Emily went into seclusion.
Days passed, and as Eldryn shifted his focus to cultivation, it took him about 11 days to create the rank 9 Firestorm and Emberstorm talismans.
"Finally, I have mastered these three talismans," Eldryn sighed with relief before storing it in his storage bag.
