Once the girls were left behind and ignored, Kai was able to walk on in peace. According to Iris, the square where the Alchemy Alliance was located was not far away.
And she really wasn't lying. Literally, the moment Kai stepped out from behind the street corner he saw a huge square. In the middle stood a huge cauldron that was fifty metres high. Taking a closer look, Kai, realising, said:
- Wow... So it's not a cauldron, but an entire building! What an extravagant design...
It was indeed the main building of the Alchemy Alliance, which was clear from the signboard at the huge entrance.
Kai was more surprised that they made it so believable that there was a fire constantly burning on the roof. The whole building in its entirety, mimicked an alchemical cauldron very well. He didn't take long to admire the beauty of the exterior and went to the entrance.
As always, Kai was more focused on himself than his surroundings. He didn't notice the behaviour of the passersby around him. Though on a reflexive level, he was used to investigating his surroundings for potential danger. But that didn't mean he paid attention to how people were treating him. And how they looked at him...
This was very evident in the situation with the Golden Lotus. Kai didn't care if people judged him and called him a tramp. But if someone dared to attack, Kai would instantly feel it.
That was why Kai didn't realise that when he was seen on the streets of Shadow Sect, almost everyone would disperse, giving him a pass. Many people stared at him dumbfoundedly and whispered about something.
Compared to the total number of several hundred thousand people, there were incredibly few Personal Disciples. Which was logical... Seeing them on the street, other people would show incredible reverence. As they walked with Iris, she was greeted by many disciples.
But there was a small problem with Kai... No one had ever seen him!
- Immortal Drunkard? Is that the new Personal Apprentice? Why haven't I ever heard of him?! Who is he? - There were faint whispers coming from everywhere.
Seeing him, many people had a lot of questions. Everyone was curious and started asking each other. The disciples hoped that it was just them not knowing about this guy.
- Mr Immortal Drunkard? I've never heard of him! This is definitely a new disciple! But he immediately ascended to the status of a Personal Disciple! - One of the High Disciples said quietly.
- Brother, you've been in the Shadow Sect much longer than me. If even you don't know...'' Another disciple who was at Core Disciple status gave a reply.
There weren't very many Supreme Disciples either. They usually trained long enough to ascend to their status. Because of this, it was likely that they should have known every potential Personal Disciple candidate. But even they were clueless right now.....
Completely oblivious to the general excitement, Kai walked carelessly to the Alchemy Alliance. Right now, he didn't even look imposing. He was rather carefree... As he walked, he hummed a tune to himself.
Usually, Personal Apprentices behaved quite proudly and tried to save face. Kai was a bit of a contrast against them....
The atmosphere inside the Alchemy Alliance was very beautiful. It looked like a white stone cave with shiny and glowing stalactites everywhere. At the same time, there was a lot of decorative greenery. When the stone was harmoniously intertwined with the greenery, it created a very aesthetic environment.
The sheer scale of the interior rooms were also huge! The main hall seemed to occupy almost the entire interior of the 'cauldron'. And along the walls were hundreds of rooms. They seemed to be like separate zones where no one would disturb the alchemist. Looking closer, Kai saw hovering platforms on which people were travelling. They would fly up to a certain room, giving them the opportunity to enter it. Some of them were forty metres high, and there were no other ways to enter there.
'What nonsense... The Alchemists hate Array Masters, yet they use arrays... However, I'm sure the latter also use pills. Why aren't they embarrassed by that?' - Rolling his eyes thought Kai.
Sometimes people were very illogical... It seemed that the conflict between the two groups of artisans was completely unreasonable. It was just that some thought that arrays were too delicate and flashy an art. Others thought that alchemy was dirty and crude.
- Mr Immortal Drunkard, welcome to the Alchemy Alliance! - A respectful voice sounded from the side.
Turning around, Kai saw a man bowing. He bowed his head low and didn't even look up. From his uniform, one could tell that he was a Core Apprentice. He most likely worked here as a staff.
- ''Hello, can you act casual? I don't like these ceremonies. - Kai replied calmly and continued, 'Listen, I have a deal with Elder Brood... How do I find him?' he asked with a smile. - Kai asked with a smile.
- I understand you! - said the man and straightened his back, - Elder Brood is kind of in his office... Immortal Drunkard, follow me, I will guide you. - The man said politely and pointed his hand in the direction of the place where there were many platforms.
A moment later, one of them had already floated up, and Kai and the man made their way to a room that was almost at the very ceiling. Looking around, Kai noticed that on the top floor, there were far fewer perimeter rooms. It seemed that they were simply more expansive in area and took up more space.
- Elder Brood, it's Lord Immortal Drunkard here to see you! - As soon as the platform stopped, the man voiced the reason for his arrival.
There was incredible reverence in his voice. At this moment, Kai finally realised the difference in attitude Iris and the others had told him about. It seemed that, the way he interacted with these Elders would be unthinkable to others.....
- Puppy! There you are! Hehehe. - There was a loud shout and the door slammed open.
- Hello, Elder Brood. You've already stepped back? Hehehe. - Kai said with a teasing tone.
- If you make jokes like that, I'll tear you to pieces. - Squinting evilly, the old man said.
- Come on! I enjoyed drinking with you, even though you didn't make it to the end. Hehehe. - Kai replied with a laugh.
- The platform under your feet is about to turn to dust... - Brud replied angrily.
- Ha-ha. Elder Brood, I'm referring to the previously discussed array. - Ignoring the old man's threats, Kai said.
- Exactly! - Brud shouted and instantly jumped onto the platform, ''Come on down, let's go to the dungeon. - Looking at the Core Apprentice, Elder Brud said.
- I obey! - The man politely replied and the platform began to lower.
- Kai, we will go to the underground rooms. They are mostly used for other purposes. But I have specially ordered to free up a large hall. There you can prove the truth of your words. - Explaining, Brood said.
- Very well, Elder. I don't care where to create it. - Kai replied with a smile.
- Listen... Quench the old man's curiosity. What does this array do, and how long will it take you to build it? - Brud asked with interest.
- Hmm... In a nutshell, it doesn't strengthen the alchemist himself, but the speed and quality of processing ingredients. As a result, you can create pills faster, while their quality also becomes better. It literally improves the alchemical process by a whole order of magnitude. - Looking at Brood, Kai answered honestly, - What about the time... I don't know yet, maybe a few weeks. - Kai said thoughtfully.
- Fairy tales! I don't believe it! - Brud shouted with a frown.
- You don't have to believe me. Time will tell you everything. You just have to wait. - Kai replied with a smile.
He didn't want to argue with the stubborn old man. It was better to show than to tell.
For now, Kai didn't know how long it would take him to erect the alchemy enhancement array. The last time he had drawn it, Kai had only been at the Cultivator level.
Now, however, he was at a new stage and his strength had taken a great leap forward. After going through the Invisible Kings' torture and absorbing it, all aspects of Kai had also soared to a new level. That was why he said a few weeks, though he suspected he could finish much faster.
- Okay... Then I'll wait for the result. If you fail, I'll make sure you end up in the Alchemy Alliance instead of those sissies! - Brud arrogantly said.
Watching this, Kai smiled. He wanted to ask about using those platforms under their feet, to tease the old man. But then he thought about it, and decided it would be better to keep silent.....
