Sorting all the herbs by species, Kai sat in the Tower of the Source for another two days. Once he had finished this stage of his work, he was faced with a dilemma.
"Hmm, what should I name them all? If I sit here and fantasise, I'll waste a lot of time on this..." - Pondered Kai.
He realised that naming so many herbs would be very difficult. He didn't have that much time. With all that said, he didn't know all the names of herbs that grew in modern times. What would happen if he gave an already existing name to one of the ancient herbs?
- That would be too troublesome... What to do? - Pensively said Kai, rubbing his chin.
- That's right! Hehe. - Smiling said Kai, and went to get a brush and paper to Diso's mansion.
In the time he had spent downstairs, he had already fully explored Diso's sector on the ninth floor of the Tower of the Source. Kai knew what lay where, so he simply went to one of the rooms.
When he arrived at his destination, he grabbed a stack of sheets and started writing on them:
- One... Two... Three..., - While Kai was writing, he voiced the numbers in parallel.
Kai came up with what he thought was a brilliant idea! Why give names to each plant, if you can just give them a conventional numbering. It would be much easier for him and the herbalists.
All the workers would have to do is just take the plants under the number and plant them in the place on the map with the same number.
Once Kai finished scribbling the sheets, he quickly drew a map of the garden on a large parchment. With that done, he began drawing numbers all over the map. It was simple, he placed the markings in order, from top to bottom.
With that done, he took the map and the sheets and advanced to the herb sorting area.
What followed was a simple process. He looked at the pile of herbs, then looked at his map, remembering where to plant them. And when determined, he would take a leaflet with the number that was marked on the map in the correct place. After a quick check, he would place the leaflet on the pile of grasses.
All this went on for a short time. After a few hours, the job was finished. Kai walked around once more and double-checked everything. And when he was sure that everything was done perfectly, he smilingly moved towards the exit.
- Hehehe, what a good way out I came up with! It saved me a whole lot of time. - Smiling said Kai as he approached the platform.
Having finished all the array and herb work, Kai could finally get to work on his alchemy assignments. He still wanted to learn the concepts and knowledge of modern craftsmen. But first, he needed to find Diso!
Exiting the Tower of the Source, he moved straight to the headquarters. When he saw the butler, he learnt that luckily Diso was now in his office.
"It's a good thing he's in place. Or else we'd still have to wait for Fatty..." - Kai thought, walking towards Diso's office.
As he approached the door, Kai unceremoniously opened it and said:
- Hello, Fatty! I have a favour to ask you! - Kai shouted with a laugh.
- Oh! Brother Kai, I've been waiting for you! I have wonderful news! - Seeing his brother, Diso instantly stood up, smiling widely.
- Ahh, that's right, I forgot... How are things going with the Auction? - Realising what the conversation was going to be about, Kai sat down on the couch and asked a question in passing.
- Hahaha, everything is amazing! While you were gone we managed to hold two Auctions. - Diso said with a smile and paused, "Everything went much better from the first auction. We invited a lot of influential forces and people. Many people wanted to come, but just as many held back..." Diso said, intriguingly, "But then, the Alchemists' Organisation itself wanted to come, namely Master Gustal. Can you imagine the excitement this caused in the higher circles? - Diso said with glittering eyes.
- It seems that it was not for nothing that I fulfilled his order so quickly. I also gave him more than the contracted amount. Hehehe. - Said Kai.
- So you did this, Brother Kai? Who would doubt it?" said Diso, smiling. He had stopped being surprised by such things.
- Yes. I just fulfilled my part of the deal with the old man. They seem to have a good intelligence network. They knew right away which force I belonged to. The old man decided to back us up. Heh-heh. - Kai explained succinctly, -So what happened next? - Kai asked with a smile.
- What do you think? We were instantly flooded with requests from all sorts of people! We even had to turn down influential but weaker forces! We explained it by the fact that we have limited places and promised to hold the next auction on a larger scale. - But that's not the main fucking point... When everyone saw the lots at the auction, they were speechless. Almost all of them were bought by the Alchemists' Organisation. Your pills were amazing even to them! - While saying this, Diso smoothly switched from a calm voice to a shout.
- ''Well, it's not surprising. I told you that my pills are unique.'' - Kai calmly replied.
Hearing Kai's carefree words, Diso fell into a stupor. His jaw even dropped. But then, with a shake of his head, he returned to his optimal state.
- Brother Kai, only you can be so calm in situations like this... - With mixed feelings, Diso said.
- Why should I be surprised if it's what I expected. Well, it turned out a little better than expected. So what? - Answered Kai.
- Okay, we've closed the subject. I'll just go on with the story... - Diso replied, rubbing the bridge of his nose in annoyance, - Anyway, our Trade and Research Auction, has put the entire Border City of the Beast on its ear! You can only imagine how hard I had to work to organise the second auction. - Diso said.
- So, what's the problem? You have enough pills. - Kai asked indifferently.
- What's the problem?! Are you kidding me?! - Diso started shouting, "The problem is that half the fucking town wanted to come to it! And there are powers that should not be denied! We had to hire new staff in no time, expand the banquet hall, organise more seating, book entertainment like musicians, reorganise processes! - Almost foaming at the mouth, Diso shouted.
- All right, all right, calm down. Don't get worked up Fatty... You're so fond of it all. Your great-grandfather and I are proud of you! - Said Kai, barely able to contain his laughter.
- Fuck you! - Diso shouted, - Shit... I fell for your provocations again. Only you can piss me off like that... - Said Diso.
- Okay, okay, I won't do it again. Go on, please. - Kai replied with a smile.
- Anyway... Like you said, we were able to make a lot of good alliances and make a decent amount of money. Even some of our past enemies have backed off... Some are now just ready to die of envy. A lot of people are trying to find out how we were able to realise all this. But all attempts are futile! Hahaha. - Laughing evilly, Diso said.
- That's great! I'm really proud of you Brother Diso! And most importantly, I didn't shine anywhere! Most likely only Master Gustal understands what this is all about. But he won't spread the word. - Smiling, Kai replied.
- That's right, I forgot to tell you! Because of everything that's going on, I've risen to the 88th place of the Glory Ranking as the Head of the Trade and Research Union! - Diso said boastfully.
- Fatty, I hope you haven't decided to change your residence to the eighth floor? - Raising an eyebrow, Kai asked.
- Of course not! I'm not an idiot. - Diso quickly shouted out, -If I did, you'd kill me... -Diso said sadly.
- Don't exaggerate Fatty... It's just that you'd have to become an alchemist and array master. And then, quietly remake everything yourself... - Kai replied thoughtfully.
- Demon... - Diso said unhappily, looking at Kai.
