Lucian pulled away a lot more slower than he had expected himself to. What had just happened? Did Simon really just kiss him? And why was he not angry at the squire?

He stared at Simon who seemed even more confused by everything that had just happened. His eyes were wide with the realization of what he had just done, and behind them was an inkling of fear, one that had Simon trembling and slowly backing away from Lucian's figure.

He had let himself go, fallen to the demands of his emotions. He should have left when he had the chance, coming back had been a bad idea, even if it had been to apologize.
