Simon turned towards the door in the same instant, ready to run away before Lucian had the chance to stop him.
"Stay..." Lucian commanded.
Simon froze, his hand on the door handle, his breath catching in his throat. He turned slowly to face the prince, his eyes wide with apprehension. He didn't want to have this conversation, but he knew it was impossible to escape it.
"Yesterday..." Lucian began, unsure if he should continue or stop. He could tell Simon was uncomfortable, but it was necessary to address the situation. Things would never be okay between the two of them if this issue was left unattended to.
