Jacquelyn joined Iva, ready to raise her glass for the toast, but someone took it from her. When she turned, it was Kael, looking at her with the corner of his lips curled.
"Trying to get drunk again?" Kael asked, bringing the glass of wine to his lips.
Jacquelyn shook her head vigorously. "Not at all, I was only going to join in the toast."
"Hm," Kael nodded, taking a sip from the wine without breaking his gaze from Jacquelyn. "Very tasty, bubbles on the tongue. Where did you get this special, little wife?" His eyes settled on the red-eyed vampire girl beside Jacquelyn.
Jacquelyn pointed at the table, "Over there," she replied in a small voice.
"You'll have to get another," Kael smiled, downing the last drop. He took the other wine from Jacquelyn's hand and walked away.
Jacquelyn sneered, "Always taking my drinks and never getting his own," she frowned, her voice barely above a whisper.
