Griselda, who was standing by the door, watched the girl with softness in her eyes. She had missed Jacquelyn so much, and she couldn't contain how grateful she was that the girl was alive. It came as a surprise to her that the Vampire King hadn't killed Jacquelyn yet, and she wanted to know why. "Ballister, here, have some water," Jacquelyn said, pushing a cup of water to the boy's lips after making him rest on the pillow. But as soon as the water entered Ballister's mouth, he coughed it out again, his body now burning up.
