Nan Xi took a step back and answered, "It's a coincidence."
"A coincidence?" Ji Yebai sneered, "Do you think I will believe that?"
"Meeting me intentionally at the cafe, falling down on purpose as I walked in, and staring straight at me while I drank—do you think all this is just a coincidence?"
"Do you think you are foolish, or am I?"
Hearing all this, Nan Xi was also stunned.
These were indeed coincidences, but his interpretation changed their entire meaning.
"Mr. Ji, you really misunderstood, I didn't intend to attract your attention," Nan Xi insisted, explaining.
"I won't believe it," Ji Yebai said coldly, his piercing gaze fixed on her.
Nan Xi waved her hand dismissively, "Alright, since you don't believe me, I won't continue."
Continuing would only make things worse.
Seizing a gap, Nan Xi bowed her head and deftly wriggled out from beneath Ji Yebai's arm.
When she left, she was resolute and brisk, not even turning her head back once.
