Morgan was not afraid of Young Captain Mathilda. He followed Mathilda through the hallways of The Trident's main headquarters. Cillian, who had invited Morgan, was responsible for accompanying the young man to the training ground outside the main headquarters building.
"Be careful. She's one of the Trident's most talented members. At her age, she's already at the 15th stage of the Magic Arcana," said Cillian, whispering to Morgan.
"Advanced Mage?" asked Morgan. Cillian cleared his throat.
"Her magic and mana control abilities are far greater than yours. However, she's weak in magic combo attacks. So, use the weakness as your advantage," revealed Cillian. Morgan looked at Cillian seriously and then agreed to what the man said.
"I got it."
They continued to walk in the hallway of the headquarters. Some of the other members had stopped their steps and clearly saw who the young man walking with Cillian was. The news about the son of the genius Jaquelin joining the Trident had already spread and became an official rumor.
"Oh, so he's the son of Captain Jaquelin?"
"Looks young and not promising. Is Cillian confident about taking him on?"
"I heard he's going to fight with Young Captain Mathilda. It seems like it would be an interesting fight."
Morgan could hear all the babbling, whether it was those who questioned his capacity or those who were enthusiastic after hearing about the planned fight between Morgan and Mathilda.
Cillian could also hear all of it. Cillian's left hand tapped on Morgan's right shoulder lightly, drawing the young man's attention to the side.
"Prove that your father trained you well, Morgan," Cillian pleaded.
"I know. Their expectations are too high, and I'm fine with that," Morgan explained, his palms clenched tightly with ambition.
Cillian smiled as he watched Morgan's demeanor with pleasure and pride.
'Jaquelin, my friend, if you saw how your son is now, you would be as proud as I am,' Cillian explained to himself.
Their journey stopped when they arrived at a large, square arena with men in red shirts surrounding it. Morgan squinted, seeing Mathilda standing in the center of the arena.
"Be careful, Morgan," Cillian told him, and Morgan nodded in response.
The young man walked into the arena, which immediately drew cynical and doubtful stares from the men in red shirts, who were members of the first squad. Many of them whispered to each other, doubting Morgan's abilities even though he was the son of Jaquelin the Genius.
"Even though his father is talented, it doesn't mean his son inherited Captain Jaquelin's talent," explained another man.
"Tch! He's just an arrogant kid who only relied on his family name to get into this group. Doesn't he know how strict it is to become a member of The Trident?" another man asked.
"I think the winner of this fight can already be seen before the fight even starts."
Pressure mounted on Morgan's side. Mathilda looked at her members, and many of them focused their attention on Morgan, talking badly.
"Before our fight begins. I will give you three rules that you must follow," Mathilda stated, raising three fingers of her right hand towards Morgan.
"First, the winner is decided when someone surrenders or can no longer fight. Anyone who fights with the intention of killing will be punished!" Mathilda emphasized.
"Second, any magic element may be used. You may also use mystic gemstones or any other form of magical creation," Mathilda added.
"Thirdly, if you manage to survive any of my attacks within ten minutes, you will be declared the winner of this fight."
"Do you understand?" Mathilda asked Morgan again.
"I understand very well, Captain Mathilda," Morgan nodded.
Mathilda smiled briefly, then began the fight with her full abilities. A golden aura emanated from her body, like a golden-colored magic mana control that seemed to wrap around Mathilda's body.
"She did not hesitate to bring out her own magic aura to fight Morgan," Cillian explained, watching from outside the arena.
'Amazing magic power, it's no wonder people are calling her the new genius,' Morgan stated.
'Attacking him with my magic power won't be very useful, I have to be careful,' Morgan replied.
[High Magic: Body Enhancement]
A magic circle was created under Morgan's body. Morgan focused the enhancement on the legs to gain momentum, agility and time to plan a magic combo attack.
"Body enhancement? That won't work against me," Mathilda explained.
From Mathilda's right hand, a golden sword was created from a gathering of light particles. Morgan ran around and began to realize that the element Mathilda possessed was the element of light.
[High Magic: The Dance of 1000 Swords]
In a flash of golden light, Morgan saw with widened eyes that thousands of swords had sprung up in the sky with the blade's tip pointed downwards.
Mathilda moved the direction of the sword blades in her hands to follow Morgan's steps, suddenly making thousands of light swords rush towards Morgan.
[High Magic: Swish of Eagle's Wings]
Morgan stretched his hand forward, bringing up a magic circle to create a high level of wind elemental magic. A gust of wind was created on the spot, pulling Mathilda's thousands of light swords into the two whirlwinds.
The situation became so chaotic, visibility was reduced due to the large amount of dust flying around. Morgan had to be on guard for this situation. Mathilda could use the momentum of this chaos to make an unexpected attack.
[Mid Magic: Blaze Armor]
Morgan conjured up a flaming armor that could protect him temporarily until Mathilda's thousands of swords disappeared. When Morgan was about to leave the area, he was surprised by a flash of golden light that appeared before his face.
"Nice magic," Mathilda explained, pointing the tip of the light saber blade forward to pierce Morgan's fire armor.
Morgan responded quickly by deflecting the blade, but Mathilda's hand speed was hard for him to keep up with, causing his face to be hit by Mathilda's magical light fist.
Morgan's body bounced away, with his flame armor starting to break due to Mathilda's magic power. The other first squad members laughed, realizing their guess was correct.
"Is this all you've got? If your father were alive, he'd be so embarrassed!" snapped Mathilda.
[High Magic: Circle of Flame Prison]
Just as Mathilda was about to leave to pursue Morgan, the woman's steps faltered as a large flame was created around her, forming a trapping circle that made it difficult for Mathilda to move.
"Despite the high level of magic, this flame will never defeat me!" Mathilda declared.
"I'm not done yet," Morgan explained.
[High Magic: Spear of Spinning Wind]
"What?! Two elements of high magic?!" several people said, gasping.
Morgan's left hand was used to control the wind spear, while his right hand was used to control the flame prison. Two high-level magic from different elements drastically reduced his mana capacity again.
[Warning!]
[Mana capacity reduced to near minimum limit]
[Mana recovery needed immediately]
'Tch! I will fail if this attack can't defeat her,' Morgan explained.
"HYAAA!"
Mathilda seemed to be struggling to escape because the fire element's high magic was very difficult to break through, let alone being threatened by the spear of magic that kept spinning around, pulling at any object around it.
'If I can't escape these two high-level magic attack combos, I will fail!' Mathilda explained.
Mathilda looked back, seeing the faint sight of three minutes left before the fight was over. If Morgan could survive the three minutes, Mathilda would have to accept Morgan and suffer her first defeat in a magical battle since she joined the Trident.
"I can't be defeated that easily!" snapped Mathilda.
[Absolute Magic: The Light of Space Power]
"S-She used absolute magic?" asked another man.
"I didn't expect Morgan to be this strong to make Captain Mathilda cast absolute magic like that!" insisted another man.
Cillian squinted, continuing to watch the battle from behind the protective blue wall of the arena. He was worried about Morgan's condition, as Mathilda did not seem to be messing around with the outcome of this fight.
'If Morgan doesn't surrender, he'll be seriously injured by Mathilda's absolute magic. This is bad!' Cillian complained.
In a flash of light, Mahilda seemed to disappear from within the circle of the flame prison. Morgan gasped and then went on full alert, his breathing sounding ragged.
[Mid Magic: Blazing Armor]
Morgan repaired his armor again by sacrificing a little of his mana. Morgan's eyes noticed a flashing light spinning as if it were rotating him.
'She's forcing me into close combat!'' complained Morgan, having no choice but to take out his Aerith sword.
"Woah! That's Aerith's sword!"
"I've never seen it before. It's said that the sword contains an Aerith stone that can ward off any kind of magic," explained the other man.
"This is becoming more and more interesting."
Mathilda, in her spatial light ability, saw the sword Morgan was holding. However, Mathilda was not afraid at all. She had to put her best effort into the remaining two minutes of the battle.
Mathilda's figure appeared from behind Morgan's body, swinging her light saber and hitting Morgan's armor, making the flame armor instantly damaged on the back. Morgan groaned in pain as he turned around.
"Attacking from behind? Is that proper for a captain?!" complained Morgan.
"You're noisy, Morgan!" snapped Mathilda.
The woman quickened her attack capabilities to the point where every movement of her light saber attack was hard to keep up with the speed of human sight. Morgan continued to get hit so hard that his flame armor was completely destroyed.
Morgan fell to his knees with his body riddled with cuts, his lips cut with his energy fully depleted. Mathilda appeared before Morgan, pointing the blade of her light saber at Morgan's neck.
"I'm changing my rules. We fight to the death!" declared Mathilda.
"Mathilda! Don't go mad," Cillian shouted.
"Stay out of it, Cillian. This is my fight," Mathilda insisted, glaring at Cillian sarcastically.
"Tch!"
"Take him away, William, Cassandra!" Cillian ordered his servant.
"Alright."
To everyone's shock, two servants appeared in the arena; not many people could summon servants, let alone servants with A-S rank.
"Too late! He will die by my hand." Mathilda swung her light saber to slash Morgan's neck. Morgan could do nothing; the difference in strength between him and Mathilda was huge.
[It's not that easy!]
WOOOSH!
Mathilda was bounced away until her body hit the magic barrier wall, preventing Morgan from being killed by her. Morgan closed his eyes as red-black flames appeared before his face.
"W-Wait... isn't that it?"
"There's no mistaking it. She is a S rank servant."
Morgan opened his eyes, and to his surprise, a woman in a long, sexy black dress with a rose pattern appeared before him. Jewelry filled several parts of her body; her long black hair made her look elegant and beautiful.
"M-Morgana?" asked Morgan.
"Who are you? Are you his servant?!" snapped Mathilda.
DING!
Time ran out, and the fight ended with Morgan winning for surviving for 10 minutes. Some of the other members were stunned to witness something surprising happen in that place; three servants were present to prevent Mathilda from killing Morgan.
Morgana looked back shortly, staring at the badly injured Morgan with a frowning gaze.
"Tch! What a bother." Morgana disappeared again in the form of thousands of crows flying into the sky. Morgan fell down after being relieved that he didn't die. Cillian rushed over to Morgan and took Morgan to be treated.
Unexpectedly, the leader of The Trident, Arthur, witnessed the battle. Seeing the arrival of Morgana Le Fay evoked Arthur's memories.
"This is interesting."
