Seeing Alex's doubt, Anti-God decided to explain, knowing it would be difficult to communicate if Alex didn't understand.
"You are correct, but you missed a part. While you indeed can't intervene in the past, I can. However, don't get your hopes up too high. The only thing I can do is transfer all your experiences from over eleven thousand years to your past self.
Obviously, these experiences won't be in the form of information. I'll use acceleration so that, in a short time in the past, you can relive eleven thousand years without missing any detail. Think of it like the saintly trial you underwent before. This will make it seem like you've been reborn into the past."
After hearing this, Alex was shocked. Although it was hard to believe, he was out of options and had no other choice. He asked:
"What is the price? I'm sure there are conditions for doing something like this. It can't be easy."
He didn't believe it could be free. If it were free, why would only his memories return to his past self?
"You are right. The price is a combination of me and a saint or a demon. Obviously, there will be some side effects due to the massive amount of memories and an accompanying curse. Although this isn't against cosmic rules, there is still a penalty because of its immense impact. The curse is that you will die precisely at this point."
After hearing this, Alex didn't hesitate and said:
"I agree."
"Oh, you're not going to think it over?"
"Not neccessary. The reason I became a saint was simply to make my life valuable enough to exchange for a chance at survival for humanity. This has been my goal for my life.
I'm not afraid of death, I'm only afraid that my life won't be valuable enough to save humanity. And the truth is, my life isn't valuable at all. I'm the last surviving human."
Seeing Alex's resolve, Anti-God decided to offer some encouragement.
"It's not over yet. After experiencing your journey, your past self will surely change. You still have one more chance, so don't give up."
"Ha ha, thanks. But why didn't you appear earlier? My companions were still alive, meaning there were three more saints."
"It's not that I don't want to, but I can only do this for one person. Not only do you have to pay the price, but I also get seriously injured. If I did it for two people, I'd be dead. If I die, the universe would revert to its original state, meaning all matter would turn into energy. I appeared because I regret the fate of humanity. Doing this affects even my past self, so there's no chance to do it again."
Alex found this explanation reasonable. If such a universe-defying act could be done at will, it would be absurd. He said:
"Alright, though I hope not to see you again."
"Good, but be careful. The God of the past will know you have returned, but due to some principles, he won't kill you. However, he might interfere with someone as a counterbalance to your return. This means the difficulty of what you need to do will increase."
Alex suddenly thought of a question and asked:
"If there's a balance, won't he be weakened like you? Wouldn't that make it easier for me to kill him?"
"You think too well, he may be weakened, but not in combat ability. If you want to stand a chance against him, you need to reach the Anti-God level. That level is named after me and is also a path. As long as you have a strong will to oppose God, you have a chance to reach that level."
At this moment, God had broken the time stasis, looking at Alex and asking:
"You will pay the price for this action. Your journey in this life has been extremely difficult already. If it becomes even harder, can you succeed?"
God had no animosity at this point, knowing that Alex was about to die. A little more conversation with a good enemy wouldn't bad. Alex, using his remaining eye, stared straight at God and replied:
"Don't underestimate humanity."
The answer wasn't very direct, but it meant 'I will succeed'. God looked at Anti-God and then back at Alex.
"Neither of us has ever underestimated humanity. But there are things you simply cannot contend with. Well, do what you want, and I will destroy humanity once more."
At that moment, Anti-God performed some movements, and a blinding white light flashed, dimming everything around.
"Aren't you going to stop this?"
The question was obviously directed at God, not anyone else. But he just smirked and shook his head.
"If you've stepped in, I won't interfere. Although we are opposites, we coexist, and the absence of either would force the universe to recreate itself. I'm curious to see what capabilities the humans you put your faith in possess."
Alex didn't respond, his body had already started to disintegrate as Anti-God began the technique. From that moment, all his memories were copied by Anti-God, while his life force continuously waned.
Now, his life had completely disappeared, his body dissolved. The Human Saint had officially died. Sadly, there was no one left to mourn him, as humanity had been completely wiped out.
.....
On Earth, March 20, 2025, everything was proceeding normally. In the bustling city, people were busy with their lives, going to work, studying, and enjoying leisure activities without any fear of impending doom.
At a university, Alex was sitting in a lecture hall, attending a class. At this time, he was just an ordinary person, unaware of the future memories he would inherit.
During the lecture, the ground began to shake violently. An unprecedented earthquake, more powerful than anything recorded in history, both in scale and strength, shook the world. Fortunately, this position was not affected too seriously.
