At this moment, it seemed as though a pair of eyes from outer space were staring intently at Alex. Clearly, the observer was someone well-known, yet he didn't directly eliminate Alex.
He then searched for another target on Earth, choosing a rather mediocre high school student.
Yes, he chose an utterly ordinary person, not someone of high status or a genius. Just an average high school kid with below-average grades at a regular high school.
"Let me see what the difference is between a normal person with a system's assistance and a saint starting over from scratch."
God was aware of what had happened to Alex. Although he couldn't see 100% of what was happening in Alex's mind, this wasn't important.
He knew Alex had memories from his future, which meant that in the future, Alex would either be a saint or a demon. The likelihood of him becoming a demon was very low, as Alex's current personality made it immediately obvious.
Humans never change over time, they only gradually move closer to their true nature. Good or evil is just a mess during the process of discovering one's true self.
Alex's true nature was that of a saint, he simply hadn't experienced enough to understand himself fully.
But God was not an ordinary being, he was the supreme entity in the universe. No one had greater power than he did, so seeing through the nature of a being was a simple task.
A person's nature is decided at birth. Education in the opposite direction (including both good and bad education) can temporarily suppress it.
However, just a moment of seeing or hearing something related to one's true nature will immediately bring it to the forefront, regardless of how long they've been educated.
.....
Alex was now lying in the medical room, still in an unconscious state. But in his mind, he was absorbing countless pieces of information.
A moment later, he woke up, his eyes not showing any surprise or seriousness but rather a dull, blank stare. The medical staff noticed this and frowned, asking:
"Alex, are you okay?"
Alex looked at her with an extremely 'intelligent' gaze and nodded his head repeatedly.
"Ok… ok... ok… ok…"
The medical staff widened her eyes in surprise. His 'intelligent' look seemed worse than a three-year-old child.
But how could someone this out of it possibly attend college? She understood that he was definitely a normal person before, but this situation was really hard to explain.
Suddenly, she recalled the event of awakening a martial soul and thought that perhaps these two issues were related. She raised a finger and asked:
"How is that number?"
Alex used his 'intelligent' gaze to look at her and then down at her finger. Then he took his own hand and mimicked her action, grinning widely.
"He he, number… number."
The medical staff felt utterly helpless. She could temporarily determine that Alex not only had amnesia but also a significantly lowered IQ.
She went to see if there was any medicine that could be used. If not, she would have to take care of him for now.
"Haiz, what is this? A college student has now become an idiot. Clearly, during the martial soul awakening, I felt his body was even healthier. Why did he become unconscious right after awakening and then turn into a fool?"
After searching for a while and finding no useful medicine, she could only resort to another method. That method was treating him like a child.
"Good boy, time to sleep, okay?"
Since Alex didn't understand spoken language, she had to supplement it with body language and demonstrate for him. Fortunately, he wasn't so dumb that his IQ was zero, so he finally complied and went to sleep.
Only then could the medical staff breathe a sigh of relief:
"Haiz, my God. Why am I dealing with this situation? I'm a medical worker, not a babysitter! Now with a 'baby' who's twenty years old, what am I supposed to do to take care of him? I'd better contact the hospital."
She then contacted the hospital, but received the following response:
"Please bear with us for a while. The earthquake has caused many traffic accidents and fatalities. The hospital is currently overloaded, but your friend's case might not have too many similar cases, so there could be a vacancy soon."
"Alright, thank you very much. Please notify me."
With that, the call ended, indicating how urgent the situation at the hospital was.
The current world has over eight billion people, and at that moment, billions were injured, and hundreds of millions perished. This number is quite high because not every structure on Earth is earthquake-resistant.
Furthermore, many buildings, tens or hundreds of stories tall, collapsed due to the extreme tremors. This number was mitigated by God's efforts to use his power to reduce the seismic impact. Otherwise, nearly all of humanity would have perished.
A few hours later, Alex's body couldn't hold on any longer. He wet the bed just as the medical staff member had gone out to find food.
Although food wasn't exactly scarce, the situation was chaotic. The delivery systems, supermarkets, and restaurants were almost entirely destroyed. Not much food was spoiled, but everything was in disarray. Fortunately, the school cafeteria wasn't significantly damaged, so operations continued as usual.
After buying the food, she thought:
"I wonder if he can eat this? In his current state, he's no different from a child, maybe even worse."
She didn't buy the food for him for free. She intended to have him or his relatives pay for it later.
When she returned to the medical room, she noticed a strange smell. Looking at the bed, she saw Alex still asleep but his pants were wet.
"Haiz, my goodness. When will the professionals get here? I'm going crazy! Ihis isn't my job, I'm not a babysitter."
Ignoring the fact that he had wet himself, she woke him up and said:
"Here's your food. If you don't know how to eat, I'm not going to help you."
She then ate her portion, while Alex's eyes changed. He no longer looked as dull and idiotic as before.
