Odin's footsteps echoed through the towering halls of Asgard. Reaching out to the Wellspring of Mimir was not something done lightly because the cost of it was great.
Yet, as the ruler of Asgard he knew there was no other way. The fate of the realm depended on the knowledge he could glean from the Well. His resolve steeled with every stride.
He descended from the palace. His long cloak trailing behind him. Past the magnificent halls, he ventured down the Bifrost.
The Wellspring of Mimir lay far beyond the realm of mortals and gods alike. It was rooted in the ancient cosmic structure, where the World Tree, The Yggdrasil, stretched its mighty branches across the Nine Realms.
Hidden at the base of one of these roots, in the shadow of Jötunheim, the Wellspring is located. It was said to hold the wisdom of the ages. Every secret and mystery of the cosmos could be known by drinking from its waters. But such power came at a price.
