Chapter 9 - 008. Demon Contract ( ? )

Grinning, Aril grinned widely as if he mocking at the fate of his opponents.

"Alright, I'll show you hell," Aril said, making the bald man wary instantly.

As far as the bald man observed, Aril was not a strong man, but he was not a stupid man either.

And that young man was grinning widely, he was hiding something.

So thought the bald man who immediately walked forward to talk to Aril.

"Wait a minute, I don't know what you're hiding, but let's talk," said the bald man.

"Are you going to threaten me?" replied Aril with a sharp question.

"Don't get me wrong, young man. We can start from the beginning."

The bald man extended his arm with a faint smile. " Let me Introduce myself, my name is Gilbert."

"What do you want, Gilbert?" asked Aril with a piercing gaze that did not avert his gaze or lower his guard.

"As you know, the world is in turmoil because everyone is trying to become the lesser god."

"Then?"

"I'm just suggesting to stop fighting and follow our orders."

"And why should we?"

"Come on, we are good people. We will accept you. It would be a shame if we didn't find you first. Imagine if other people who is barbaric find you first."

"What difference does it make, you're the one who tried to attack us."

Gilbert just smiled. "But we weren't the ones who started. You were the ones who tried to attack us first. We were just defending ourselves."

Gilbert's words sounded so reasonable that Putri agreed.

"Wait a minute, there seems to be some truth to it. We were the ones who attacked first," said the Putri who slowly agreed to the statement.

Gilbert smiled and once again extended his hand. Aril walked over to the bald man.

Gilbert breathed a sigh of relief. "Right, we don't need -"

*BHUK!

Aril executed a horizontal kick and slammed into Gilbert's side abdomen and pushed the bald man to the ground.

"Bastard! You ungrateful bastard!" shouted the raptor man who was standing nearby.

"I killed two of your men and you're not mad at all..." Aril grinned widely. "I can't trust someone like that."

Gilbert laughed and stood up immediately. "It seems like a waste to use sweet words with you, you lowly scum!"

"There was no sweetness in your words to begin with," replied Aril, chuckling slightly.

"I gave you the chance to be my obedient subordinate, but it seems you're only fit to be a slave!"

The entire air pressure suddenly changed, as if a stream of wind was sucked towards Aril.

*BHUM!

Someone suddenly landed from above and stood in front of Aril.

Aril's eyes widened in disbelief at what he had just seen.

"I knew I had to go home early," Salma said with a grin.

The typical tank top and baggy pants. But there were a few things that were different.

A slightly longer cat tail. Hair that was now yellow and grew out like a male lion's mane.

Both ears that are now on top of the head and shaped like cat ears. Long, sharp nails. A row of sharp and strong fangs.

Salma's stature was like that of a half-cat and left Aril and Putri stunned on the spot.

"Mom... You have a system too?" asked Putri who still couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"Aril, please take Putri away," said Salma who did not turn around to look at Aril because her eyes were so focused on Gilbert.

Without needing to think further, Aril immediately nodded his head once and immediately looked at Putri.

"We have to get out of here," said Aril who was looking at Putri in all seriousness.

"No way! We have to help my mom!" said Putri.

"Huh?! Didn't you hear what Aunt Salma said?!"

"That's precisely why -"

Aril immediately hit Putri's stomach very hard and instantly made the girl faint.

"I guess I should thank you for not increasing your endurance," said Aril who was carrying Putri on his shoulders.

The young man immediately ran away, did not turn around, and did not hesitate in the slightest.

"Oh, so that's what he's trying to do. That boy just wanted to buy time until you came," said Gilbert who was now focused on Salma who was setting up a stance.

"I don't know what you mean," replied Salma who didn't understand why Aril had to distract him and wait for her to arrive.

Given that Salma had never said that she had a system and it was impossible for Aril to expect Salma to come to help if the young man did not know Salma's secret.

Unless...

"He's not waiting for me, he wants to do something," Salma muttered with a wide grin.

'He has a secret too,' Salma said in her mind.

"Looks like I don't need to worry about those two kids, I just need to focus on fighting you guys," Salma said loudly.

All the machete-wielding men slowly approached, as did the wavy-haired man.

"Mutant system! Activated!" the wavy-haired man shouted as his body slowly transformed into a reptilian body covered in scales.

"Hey, how about I make you an offer," said Gilbert who managed to get Salma's attention.

Salma raised one of her eyebrows. "An Offer?"

"If you become one of my harem, I'll forgive you and those two kids," Gilbert replied.

"Too bad you're not my type."

Gilbert immediately gave the cat-eared woman a sharp look. "In that case, it would be a pity if I had to kill you."

Salma suddenly disappeared from sight.

Gilbert's eyes widened and he felt a chill run down his spine.

When the bald man glanced to his back, he saw Salma preparing to claw him.

Salma stared into Gilbert's eyes. "Try me..."

---------------------------------------------

Aril continued to run along the road and slowly, the road that was just a dirt road now became an asphalt road.

Don't ask how the inconsistency because that's just how government doing their job.

After a while the young man felt something strange. He was pretty sure that the wound on his back was quite fatal and the raptor man's punch was quite powerful.

But why? Why didn't he feel any pain or fatigue at all?

On the contrary, he felt refreshed and able to carry Putri on his shoulders.

"Could this be the gift that demon talk about? I guess that's not important. What matters now is that I have to hide until Aunt Salma finished them off," said Aril who was doing a monologue while continuing to run.

In an all-white world, a black horned figure just sat where he was...

Grinning widely....
