"You will need my help when a partner beast and their master cultivate it...Wait, what?" Flux Fire said with wide eyes, looking at Long Chen in disbelief. "I know it, you are not worthy of me. After 10,000 years in hibernation, I am stuck with you. The heavens are not fair," Flux Fire said, frustration evident in its voice.
"Say I am not worthy again, and I will turn you into chicken soup," Long Chen said, his gaze annoyed. He was tired of this bird's constant chatter.
At the mention of the phrase chicken soup, Flux Fire looked at Long Chen with a furious gaze, but it managed to swallow its pride and kept its mouth shut.
"The cultivation manual he was using is too weak for me. I am going to destroy it and start afresh," Long Chen explained his decision.
"Oh that what you mean. Well you're smart. The cultivation manual is so weak that it's almost a disgrace to me. Hurry up and destroy it," Flux Fire said with pride.
Long Chen ignored the proud chicken and focused on himself. Destroying his cultivation was a serious task, and any mistake could result in permanent failure.
He sat cross-legged and inhaled deeply, his mind becoming as tranquil as a pond as his consciousness entered his sea of qi.
Inside, he saw weak but many interconnected strands of light filling his vision. Long Chen frowned at their weakness.
"It's so weak," he muttered as he emitted a burst of energy that blasted the strands of qi. He felt an unbearable wave of pain but fought to stay awake knowing that fainting would result in permanent failure.
If he faints the pain will be for nothing and he will lose the chance to ever become a cultivator.
"Ahhhhh!" Long Chen shouted as his body released a wave of energy. The absorbed qi, in the form of strands, was released at least once, creating a shock wave. Long Chen took a deep breath as he fell onto the bed, staring at the ceiling. As was not strong enough to destroy the energy, the strands of energy burst out spreading from his body.
Flux Fire had been blasted away by the energy wave, and some of its feathers were destroyed. "Look at what you've done to me," Flux Fire complained loudly as it looked at itself with pure disgust in his eyes.
Long Chen gave a sideways glance and saw a half-naked chicken. He almost burst into laughter looking at its pitiful condition. "So much for the legendary fire spirit. You're so weak; you can't even handle a little wave," he said, striking a nerve.
Hearing the term 'weak,' the proud chicken released a mighty aura. "Weak? You're the one who couldn't handle my true form. Now I have to be a chicken so you don't die," Flux Fire retorted radiating with fire.
Long Chen knew he had pushed too far, mocking a mystic beast's dignity, but he wasn't ready to apologize. He lay on the bed, contemplating his future journey. "They've been cultivating for a thousand years. I need to put in more effort to reach them," he thought to himself.
"I need cultivation resources," Long Chen said as he sat up. "Since this is a small empire, they will surely lack advanced cultivation manuals. With the memories of my past, I have thousands of mid-grade cultivation manuals," he said as he stood up.
He went to a book placed in the corner of the room and brought out ink. Flux Fire protested, "What do you think you're doing? How dare you ignore me?" Long Chen simply summoned it back into his body to avoid distractions.
"With my knowledge, the boy I reincarnated into is a talented artist and painter. If I can use his skill, I should be able to draw the steps in the cultivation manual and boost the price of the manual," Long Chen mused. He began drawing and painting the steps on a long scroll while writing the corresponding actions in words.
After two hours of strenuous effort, he finished writing one manual. Exhausted from the task of making the cultivation manual vivid, he said, "The cultivation manual is known as the Thunderclap Clap, a technique most suitable for people with a thunder physique."
Long Chen continued to create the next manual. After three hours, he finally managed to complete another technique, 'Fire Sword technique', both manuals were tailored for those who cultivated the way of the sword.
"Flux Fire," Long Chen called out, and a white streak of light burst out from his body, materializing into an angry chicken.
With the enormous life force in the sea of qi, it has managed to grow back to its feathers.
"I hope you're ready to apologize," it said, pride evident in its expression.
"Apologize? What for?" Long Chen asked innocently.
"You..." Flux Fire began, but Long Chen's nonchalant attitude left it flustered.
"Stop all your ruckus; tell me what you can do. Your strength, to be precise," Long Chen inquired.
"I'm not telling you anything until you apologize," Flux Fire stubbornly declared, crossing its feathers and looking in the other direction.
Long Chen wasn't ready to give in. He grabbed the chicken and looked directly into its eyes. To gauge the strength of a partner beast, one needed to count the number of stars in its eyes. As Long Chen looked into its eyes he saw a big bright red star. Seeing that it is only one star Long Chen has the urge to throw it away.
"What, just one big star? And your dare claims to be a beast of chaos. My other beasts have 7 stars each but you only have one. What a shame," Long Chen said looking at it with a disappointed gaze.
"You... How dare you say that to me" Flux Fire said pointing at Long Chen in annoyance.
"Look again" Flux Fire Said as it pulled Long Chen's face.
As Long Chen looked closer, he saw not just one big star, but a galaxy of tiny stars glowing with red light within the big one.
"What? Your stars..... They are limitless," Long Chen said, shock evident on his face.
"Of course, what do you take me for", Flux Fire said with pride.
