Chapter 7 - Jade Dragon Auction

"Can you tell me more about the seven great universal laws?" Long Chen asked, looking at Flux Fire.

"The seven great universal laws are the true laws of nature and the master elements. They include space, time, void, light, darkness, origin, and destiny," Flux Fire explained.

"But ever since they came into being, no creature has been able to cultivate destiny. So destiny is the master of the seven great laws."

"With the power of space, you can make space your servant. You can fold it and freeze it like this," Flux Fire said as it waved its feathers. A strong force emanated from it.

As a shelf was about to fall due to the force's impact, it suddenly stopped midway, as if space had frozen.

"Ahhh," Long Chen shouted as a sudden wave of exhaustion overtook him. If he were still a cultivator, he might have been able to handle Flux Fire's power for five minutes, but destroying his cultivation had turned him into a weak, feeble human.

Flux Fire retracted its feathers, and the frozen space returned to normal, causing the shelf to fall with a loud bang.

"See how powerful the power of space is? Since you can't handle my powers now, I can only pass the technique to you for you to study so you can use it directly," Flux Fire said.

"To create the cultivation pill you need, I need the heart of fire seed, a drop from the spring of life, a hundred-year-old ginseng, fire lotus, and fallen star grass," Flux Fire listed.

"The others can be easily found in this small country, but the spring of life and fallen star grass cannot be easily found. Is there any alternative?" Long Chen asked.

"The dew from the spring of life and fallen star flower is the core of the pill and does not have any alternative," Flux Fire said.

"Okay, I will try to get it," Long Chen said. "Now that I am back to a normal human, I need sleep," Long Chen said with a yawn.

Flux Fire transformed into a streak of red light and entered Long Chen's body.

******The Next Day******

Following the memory of his past life, Long Chen heads to the 'Jade Dragon Auction House'.

Due to his insignificance in the Long Family, no guard escorted him. This gives him the privilege to roam freely.

Long Chen donned a cloak that concealed his identity. He had heard of a renowned auction house in the city, the perfect venue to auction the two coveted mid-grade cultivation manuals he possessed. These manuals were highly sought after by cultivators, and he was certain they would fetch a substantial sum.

As he approached the bustling entrance of the auction house, he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. The atmosphere was electric, with cultivators from far and wide in attendance, hoping to acquire rare treasures.

Long Chen, hidden beneath his cloak, presented the cultivation manuals to the attentive attendant at the front desk. The sharp-eyed staff member quickly assessed their grade and, recognizing their value welcomed Long Chen to a discreet side door.

This entrance led to a reserved VIP area within the auction house, a space where highly respected individuals were served. Long Chen's presence in this exclusive area further shrouded him in mystery.

Inside the VIP room, Long Chen waited in silence. His motives and identity remained hidden, known only to himself. He had chosen this secluded spot to observe the proceedings discreetly, ensuring that he could navigate the auction without revealing his true intentions.

Soon, a well-dressed auction house representative entered the VIP room, carrying an air of professionalism, He is no more than Ming Zhao the manager of Jade Dragon Auction House.

They began to discuss the terms and conditions of the auction process. Long Chen listened carefully, acknowledging the importance of this negotiation.

The manual was placed on a desk in front of them.

"I would like to call our appraisal to confirm the authenticity of the manual" Manager Zhao said.

"You are free to do so," Ling Chen said with his face still covered.

Manager Zhao stood and left the back room.

Soon Manager Zhao and the appraisal return.

Manager Zhaoreturnsn to his seat.

As the appraisal enters he first bows down to greet him.

"Greeting Manager Zhao," the appraisal said with his head down.

The appraisal is about eighty years old. His long white beards swept the floor when he bowed.

Seeing their actions Long Chen looked at Manager Zhao with respect but made sure it didn't show in his eyes. "He must be more than just a manager" Li, and Chen thought inwardly.

"Ming Shen, I called for your presence to help me appraise the item that our customer brought," Manager Zhao said looking at the old man who looked like he didn't want to leave the floor.

The appraisal immediately stood up and got to the action, his tiny eyes and his wrinkled hands ran through the scroll.

"Good stuff, very good stuff," the appraisal said as he continued to check their authenticity.

"Manager Zhao, all the materials that the customer brought are all authentic," the appraisal said with squint eyes.

"Since we have approved the goods, then let's get down to business," Manager Zhao said looking at Ling Chen with a serious expression.

"We are going to take ten percent of the total amount of the goods after sold, do you agree with our terms," Ming Xia said.

"That covers the advertising and overseeing the sale of the items" Manager Zhao explained.

"Yes, I do," Long Chen with a deep voice.

"Here is the document that you need to sign," Manager Zhao said as he passed the documents to Ling Chen.

The documents were simple, short and straightforward. as it was only for the customer's name, what is offered to be sold in the auction.

It also says that the Jade Dragon auction will be responsible for the auctioning of the items and would take ten percentage while the remaining amount of money would be given to him.

Long Chen quickly signed the document and gave it back to Manager Zhao who also signed his part.
