Chapter 11 - Information Magazines

Professor Ankrew continued talking for another hour as he explained the intricacies of mana thought after the start of the lesson. Most of what he explained was theory only, with no practical use.

That wasn't to say that what he explained was useless; it was something you needed to know, like how mana was gathered and how it transformed and changed in different scenarios. But that wasn't something the students would be using anytime soon, so most slacked off or started not to listen at all during the final bits of the lesson.

"Professor, what about nuclear energy? Could that be used as a mana source?"

Of course, White was different. He had a large smile on his face, looking as if this was the most interesting thing in the whole world.

The young Professor Ankrew as he answered the question.

"Nuclear energy can be turned into mana through a machine, but the machine has yet to be made because of its destructive nature. It is in research right now, however, and should be out in a few years at most," Ankrew said. Just as he was about to continue, a clear bell sound rang in the library.

"It seems like that's it for today. I suggest all students go over the material when they have the time. Everything explained will be tested at the end of the term," Ankrew said as the students nodded and started heading off.

"You, the student at the end, what's your name?" Ankrew said as he pointed at White with his finger.

White stopped as he saluted the professor and answered immediately.

"White Sins, sir."

"I'll remember you. Good job today." Ankrew said as he turned around and headed toward his desk.

"Thank you, professor, sir," White said as he bowed in thanks and started heading outside just like the other students.

'Thank you so much, professor,' White thought inwardly as his smile turned into a full-blown toothy grin.

White barely held back his laughter from the joy he was feeling rushing through his body like a tsunami.

'My intelligence stat has already increased leaps and bounds already. I can't notice the changes to it as I do with strength. I'll have to make a test so I can continue to see just how much improvement I get in each intelligence stat,' White thought as he headed outside the mana theory-building.

Taking his phone out of his pocket, White unlocked it and checked his next class on today's schedule.

'Mana practice finally,' White thought as he stared at the text on his phone screen.

'I finally get to unlock my mana. By doing that, my strength, speed, constitution, and even calculating ability will be increased. If I were to find that gorilla monster again in that Arena when I have my mana unlocked, then I wouldn't even need a weapon to create a bloody mush out of it,' White thought as he headed toward the station.

He arrived quickly and sat down on the bench as he waited for the bus.

"Hey, did you hear?" someone said as he whispered to a friend of his, presumably.

"What? Why are you whispering, man? Get away from me!" The other responded

"They say that the new mana practice professor is insane and that he actually kills students who he consideres as a waste of resources" The first person said to his friend.

"What, really? Damn, that's scary, man."

'Why do they even spread rumors, instead they should just spend that time trying to get stronger in any way they can, why would they have to worry about the professor if they werent a waste of space in the first place' White thought as he shook his head in annoyance.

'They're still useful as information magazines,' White thought as he chuckled to himself.

'Let's see just how harsh that professor really is,' White thought as his eyes shined, showing his anticipation to see just how much he could gain from the man.

'I wonder what stat I would gain from mana practice. However, maybe Intelligence? I really have no idea,' White thought as he saw the automatic bus come closer and closer.

Standing up from the bench, White entered the bus and sat down on the first free seat he saw. The bus drove off soon after.

The ride didn't take long. It was even shorter than the last trip from the physical practice field to the mana theory library.

It was also the first time that White had arrived at the location, and he hadn't seen a bunker. It was a grass field with small buildings and walls around it.

Hopping off the bus, White headed towards the grass field, scanning his id at the iron electric gate and entered inside.

When he arrived, White saw the professor in the middle of the field. The students who had arrived before White was sitting cross-legged in front of the professor.

White went ahead and headed toward the professor.

"Academy student White Sins sir, Nice to meet you sir" White said as he saluted once he arrived near the professor, a woman with long green hair reaching up to her waist, her body the perfect image of a hourglass.

"Nice to meet you too cadet White, im your mana practice professor. Charlotte Light." Charlotte said as she turned to face White.

'God damn, she's fucking hot,' White thought as he stared at her for a second.
