Dinner with the gods.
We sit at Hera's right hand, at one end of a long oval table. Athena and Poseidon/Waverly sit next to us. Then Sun Wukong and Erlang. Ares is thrilled to have someone else to talk about war with.
The palatial hall is filled with drinking and feasting. Ambrosia and nectar--the literal food of the gods. Demeter is quick to inform me that ambrosia comes in at least a hundred varieties. They keep varying the recipe so they don't become bored of it. Although, tasting its sweetness and its tartness, I find it hard to imagine that anyone would tire of eating something so amazing.
The gods are especially enjoying their ambrosia tonight. Defeating Lamashtu is a battle that Apollo is singing about. He's strumming his lyre while he eats, and riffing on the spot. I tap my feet in time to the melody.
