Chapter 22 - Race Of Death...

System, I wonder, how much has my strength increased?

The power level has increased by one level.

[All stats have been permanently increased by ten.]

[B-grade skill card obtained.]

[10 versatile points obtained.]

[Free attribute ability card gained.]

Seeing the information, Bray smiled faintly and then proceeded to walk out, towards his cell. When he reached, he entered and then walked into his cell room to absorb the gains of today.

Like this, Bray spent the next few hours getting used to his new strength. Another thing he had discovered was that the remaining 20 versatile points from when he purchased the increase in strength couldn't be used to purchase the agility attribute.

He could only use the 10 he had gained after defeating Ferry, which he used to purchase an increase in his agility stats.

Like this, two days passed, ordinarily on earth, this would have been six days, but with the passage of time here, one day was only counted as 72 hours, so only two days passed.

Bray went on to challenge a young man from cell 2. He couldn't challenge the man previously because of the low level of strength he possessed, as at that time, after absorbing the gains of his fight with Ferry, his strength had increased significantly.

He had challenged four people in the span of these two days. At this moment, Bray's expression was solemn, he was about to encounter the next 'game' that would be played today.

He didn't know how he would fare in this so-called 'game'. He wasn't sure if he was going to get the top score or the least score, one thing he was sure of was that he definitely wasn't going to die in this damn place!

With that thought, Bray ignored the loud chiming noise that was constantly resounding and stood up. After the system placed the aterenoid shackles, he strolled out of his cell room.

His gaze met with Sloven and the other three. Sloven nodded slightly at him, although in these past few days Sloven had made no attempt to contact him, he could feel there was a change brewing in this prison.

And yes, another person had also been added to Bray's cell, there was nothing special about the young lady, with only a C-grade ability, naturally, she didn't interest Bray in the slightest.

After the slight confrontation of all the members of cell 0, they walked out, bound by shackles. Only when they came out of the prison cell did the guard outside unshackle them for the game of today.

After walking for a while under the lead of the guard, Bray and the others finally arrived at a large, spacious field. There was quite a bit of vegetation on this field, and the land was extremely large, even for someone like Bray that had improved agility stats, it would still take him more than forty hours to cross from one side to the other.

The prisoners of cell 0 followed the guard to the other side of the field, where Raphael, along with Ray and three other guards, were waiting. Bray recognized one of them as stepping Joe and the other as Zach, the last woman was someone Bray didn't recognize.

All of them had calm expressions as though they were suppressing their excitements, of course this was with the exception of Ray. Bray had always felt there was something wrong with him.

I wonder what the true capability of his ability 'lunatic' is at power level 100. Bray sighed inwardly, and in a few moments they reached the five guards.

After waiting for a while, other prisoners came. Bray was stunned to see that Gagi was absent. In the next moment, as though coming to a realization, his expression turned into a deep frown.

He must have taken his own life. Bray immediately came to this conclusion. Knowing people, it might be true that he couldn't live with the fact that he was too weak to protect the one he loved, as such, he decided to spend time in the afterlife with her.

After seeing that everyone was present, Raphael went through his round of torture towards those that came late before stepping back. He spread his hands in a welcoming fashion.

"Welcome everyone, to the race of death, game. ROD. I can see some new faces here, so I guess I will have to burden myself with explaining how the game goes, although it might be of no use since most of you will die anyway."

"As the game implies, ROD, race of death. In this game, you are to run to the other side of this field and cross over the door." At this moment, Raphael paused, as though he had finished explaining, studying everyone's expressions.

Of course everyone's expression still looked slightly nervous, with the exception of most new prisoners, most of them felt relaxed. How could almost all of them die if all they had to do was run to the other side?

They naturally felt confident in their agility stats.

Bray took, sighed in relief inwardly. It seems this game is not as terrifying as I imagined it to be, but Bray didn't dare underestimate a place as horrifying as the world prison, and just as he guessed…

Raphael continued, "Of course we can't just let you run all the way to the other side just like that now, can we? There needs to be something there to make it exciting, there needs to be something that will bring about panic."

His voice cracked in excitement, and then he said in an exhilarating voice, "There needs to be a variety of world beasts! In this way, most of you will end up dying to the claws of these hungry savages."

Everyone's expression once again turned pale, they could only sigh at themselves for thinking something good would come out of this world prison. What did they expect? This was a place filled with people who had condemned them to death.

Bray stared ahead with a calm gaze, it was just as he guessed, this place couldn't be underestimated. I wonder what the world beasts look like, will they be as ferocious as I imagine them to be?

Who will survive in the end???

To be continued…
