"Agh… Ow. Ouch."
Lucian could really only let out several unwilling and heavy breaths as he bounced and rolled out of the box he was in; his face the entire time, however, was completely still and blank. How could it not be, when he was thrown out of his box… only to land in another box — this time, a large glass cage.
"...What do you think it is?"
"Who the fuck cares as long as we're being paid. Let's go… this place gives me the creeps."
Lucian then watched as the people who kidnapped just immediately scampered away with their shoulders slightly raised and shivering, completely leaving Lucian alone in this white immaculate room he now finds himself trapped in.
"What the…" Well, he wasn't actually alone at all. Because as soon as he looked to the side…
…he saw a face just staring at him from the other side of the glass; its breath, causing the glass to fog and blur.
"Uh…" Lucian squinted his eyes as he returned the stare, "...Hello?"
"Ngee?" The owner of the face, however, was not exactly human as it just licked the glass in response to Lucian's greeting.
"Okay… right on," Lucian could not help but slither back as he saw this, "You do you."
No, It wasn't human at all — it was some sort of dog with a human head. And as Lucian's tail hit the other end of the glass cage he was in, his eyes just once again widened as he saw another creature on the other side of the glass staring at him.
This time, it was an owl with a human head… and human hands with webbed fingers for wings. But perhaps the most noticeable thing about the owl… was the long human penis hanging and dragging between its legs.
"...'Sup?" Lucian raised his head to greet the monstrosity, but once again, there was no response as the thing just tilted its head almost at a 180-degree angle, "What's… with all the ugly monsters with penises just hanging out in this world?"
Lucian then turned to look behind the monster, only to see even more creatures there—no. In fact, the wall was filled with monsters, all locked up in their own glass cages… probably more than a dozen of them.
"You really can't talk?" Lucian then squinted his eyes at the owl monster, waiting for it to accidentally slip out a word to see if it was pretending to be dull. But after an entire minute of it just staring at Lucian and then trying to peck its own penis, Lucian was sure it truly was just a monster, "And what about you, Doggie? Are you sure there's not a lightbulb in there some—"
And before Lucian could finish his words, he quickly shut his mouth as he heard whispers coming from the other side of the door.
"Hm?" Lucian squinted his eyes again as he recognized one of the two men who entered the room — it was the rude customer who wanted to buy Rosa earlier. No, Lucian also recognized the other one who was wearing a lab gown; it was the customer who bought the last rifle.
"Did you see the woman? I told you, right?" The rude customer followed behind the doctor.
"Indeed—she is quite peculiar," the doctor nodded several times, "Her mutation appears to be quite advanced, and yet she's in remarkably good condition... Instruct the men to bring her in as well. She may very well be the key we need to solve this case. And now…
…what do we have here?"
The doctor then leaned down as he stood right in front of Lucian's cage.
"It talks," the rude customer said, "I don't know why it's not talking now, but it was—"
"I know," a wide grin very slowly crawled on the doctor's face as he stared at Lucian, "I could see it in its eyes, it's hiding an intelligence that I haven't seen from the rest of these failures. It doesn't seem to like you at all. And why does it have a napkin on its back?"
"That thing fucking chased in the streets."
"Huh…" The doctor just shrugged as he once again stared at Lucian, "Now, where did you pop out from… little creature?"
"I heard from the Welcomer that—"
"I wasn't asking you," the doctor quickly glared at the rude customer, "And what are you still doing here? Scram! Do what I told you to do!"
"Okay, okay. I'm on it!" The rude customer raised both his palms as he backed away, "You don't need to be so zesty about it, sheesh."
And as soon as the rude customer was gone, the wide smile on the doctor's face grew even wider. Lucian then watched as he wore a pair of gloves and started preparing a syringe with an exaggeratedly long needle.
"Now…" The doctor softly giggled as he very slightly opened up Lucian's cage and poked the needle in straight toward Lucian, "...Let's see what you are, little creature."
Lucian then just allowed the doctor to just inject him with the syringe.
"Go to sleep now… and everything will be alright when you wake up."
And very slowly, Lucian closed his eyes before dropping there and then inside his large cage. And without even any delay, the doctor excitedly opened the glass cage fully; carefully removing Lucian from it and placing him on his palm.
"So… light," the doctor whispered as he moved Lucian and rested him on one of the metal beds. The doctor then grabbed a much smaller syringe to take Lucian's blood…
…only for his eyes to widen as some sort of white liquid was drawn instead.
"What… is this?" The doctor whispered to himself before quickly running to his microscope, "This is…
…seminal fluid?"
The doctor leaned away from the microscope before hurriedly just taking the syringe — replacing the needle with a longer one… and then injecting it into one of the creatures that looked like a fox; smiling and giggling all the while doing so.
He then started doing all sorts of tests — checking for Lucian's heartbeat, but there was none. But the doctor did not really mind it too much as he thought Lucian was too small for the machine to read his vitals anyway.
And when he seemed satisfied, he returned to Lucian with a scalpel in hand; humming a tune as he just carefully cut through the surface layer of Lucian's stomach. He was just going to cut through the skin, but when he found out that it wasn't skin at all, the doctor could not help but just dig deeper.
"There… are no organs?" The doctor dropped the scalpel as he just leaned away, "What… what sort of creature are you?"
"I was hoping you could tell me."
"!!!" The doctor could not help but just jump in fright as he saw Lucian just opening his eyes and speaking to him.
"You spent 3 hours on me…" The doctor then watched as Lucian casually stood up; closing his dissected body with his tiny little hands while letting out a long and deep sigh of disappointment,
"...And you didn't even come up with anything? You're even more useless than Adelfred."
