"Fair?" Aiden cut him off, his voice shaking with anger. "You talkin 'bout fair stuff? You know what's fair? What's fair is you knowing you have to stay off my girl."
"Man I didn't mean to…"
"You didn't mean to fuck my girl? Huh? " You didn't mean to kiss my girl, touch her boobs and take her clothes off and then stick your shit in her? You went through this whole process and you didn't realize you had to stop?" He took a step back, the betrayal cutting deep. "You know what? You're both dead to me. Don't even bother tryin' to explain shit."
It felt like the world was shaking as Aiden turned and bolted down the stairs, he quickly cleaned his eyes to stop the tears from rolling down his cheeks.
"Man, we need to talk!" Scott's voice came from the room but he ignored him anyway. He had to get out of there, away from the lies and the hurt. "I will be by your side forever, as long as you have money ha ha." The voice of Chloe from months past played back in his head. He didn't know she was really serious whenever she made such jokes, but with her recent behavior, it was clear she meant it and she felt so free to make jokes about it because she never took him seriously after all.
"How could I have been so stupid to work so hard for my tuition fee only to give it to this devilish whore?" Aiden scolded himself. "I'm so fucking stupid!" He kicked a trash bin out of anger. She'd lied to him countless times about being sick and broke, making him give all of his tuition fee to her. "And what did she do with all the money? She buys some fucking expensive shit to show off in school and tell her friends how much I ain't fit to be her boyfriend." He Stopped to punch a wall repeatedly until he heard someone shout "Hey man don't break my fucking wall. Go suck somewhere else."
As he burst out the front door and into the street, Chloe's words echoed in his mind. "Look, Aiden, if you want a loyal girlfriend, you better work hard and get some money. I ain't gonna wait around forever."
He felt a lump in his throat and blinked back angry tears. "She treats me like this after everything I've done for her. Chloe, you're gonna regret this!" He needed to clear his head, to figure out what to do next.
He noticed his phone buzzing in his pocket, but he didn't bother to check it. He knew it was Scott, trying to explain, to offer some fake apology to fulfill all righteousness. But there was no excuse for this. No coming back from this kind of betrayal.
"Monsters! That's who they are! Heartless terrible people." Aiden slammed the door behind him as he stormed into his apartment, his mind was still reeling from what he'd just seen. "Now I understand why Chloe's phone automatically connected to Scott's Wifi when I took her there for the first time. It's cos she's been there before and I didn't fucking know about it." He tossed his Xbox controller onto the couch and paced the living room, trying to make sense of everything going on in his head. "They've been smashing behind my back all this while!" He Kicked the couch and realized he'd hurt himself. "Shit!" He said in pain.
It hurt every time Chloe's words came back to him. They cut deeper than anything. "This's the same girl who told me she didn't care about money. Now she's up tryna bang every rich dude in school including my best friend."
Aiden's phone buzzed incessantly. He finally pulled it out and saw a string of messages from Scott, but he couldn't bring himself to read them. He shoved the phone back into his pocket and collapsed onto the couch with his head in his hands.
The next day on campus, Aiden felt like he was walking through a fog. He heard people whispering his name as he walked down the hallways of the lecture buildings. "Yeah that's him. The stupid dude who let his best friend fuck his girl ha ha." Someone said.
"You think he let the guy do it? Maybe he doesn't know how to slap her ass the right way so she gave Scott a try ha ha…" They laughed harder, making Aiden very uncomfortable.
"Or maybe he's got a tiny lizard between his legs, our college girls love six inches." They bursted into another round of laughter.
Aiden didn't expect news of the incident to spread so quickly, and he didn't expect so many rumors so soon, especially not the one he heard a girl say "Chloe was engaged with Scott while she dated Aiden."
"Yep and Scott's gonna buy her a car soon."
"Really?"
"Oh yeah. Don't you see the expensive Jewelry he already buys for her? Sweet gifts to keep her smiling."
"I heard she bought the jewelry from money she extorted from Aiden."
Everyone seemed to know something had gone down. Aiden didn't even bother to acknowledge the stares.
Just when he was about to head into the history lecture room, Scott tried to approach him. "Aiden, man, we need to talk."
Aiden glared at him with his fists clenching. "We don't need to talk man. Get the fuck outta ma way."
"Man, just hear me out," Scott reached for his hand but he waved him away shifting backwards. "Hey Aiden It wasn't—"
Aiden didn't let him finish. "Screw you, Jerk!" he shouted and his voice echoed through the lecture hall. "I told you to get outta mi fucking way!" He immediately lunged at Scott, shoving him really hard. "You're supposed to be my best friend!"
Scott stumbled back, trying to stay upright. "And you're supposed to calm the fuck down and listen to me!" He sounded angry this time. "I might have fucked up but I expect you to stop acting like a child and stop beefing me around."
"I don't wanna talk to you mother fucker! Just stay outta ma life. You understand me?"
Aiden gave Scott another heavy blow on his jaw. Before he could utter another word.
"Look Scott and Aiden are fighting cos of a girl." The female students were happy to watch. Happy to finally get a fresh topic to gossip about maybe throughout the semester.
"If I was Aiden, I wouldn't be fighting cos of some college bitch who doesn't give a shit about my feelings." A guy said while recording the fight on his phone.
"Yeah she's some stupid ass girl who keeps following rich guys on campus. I saw her last night at the party shaking her ass for a new guy in town."
"About her ass, I'm not gonna lie that shit perfect for real ha ha."
"Damn man it shakes, it's so fucking soft."
Scott struggled to gain balance then slapped Aiden, before Aiden could react, a punch found his eye and he fell to the floor.
"Now this is getting interesting." A student said laughing "Yo man give me my phone I gotta record this shit. Ama post this online."
The room erupted into chaos as students scrambled to get out of the way. A professor rushed to get in between them, but it was too late, Aiden had already landed another punch before he was pulled away.
"What in God's name is going on here?" Professional Pendewill asked frowning.
"This son of a bitch moved to me first." Scott said carelessly.
"Watch your language young man!" Pendewill cautioned.
"Mr. Aiden, to the dean's office, now!" the professor barked pointing in the direction.
Aiden didn't resist. He shrugged off the professor's grip and walked out, his knuckles throbbing and his heart pounding. "What are you looking at? Huh?" He asked a girl looking at him without blinking. "Sweaty men are so sexy. Look at him, so Manish!" The girl turned to whisper to a friend.
As Tyler made his way to the dean's office, he could still hear people talking about the fight, and he felt the eyes on him but he didn't "give a fuck!" Nothing mattered anymore. He fought his best friend because of a girl and got into trouble. That wasn't going to look so good in his records. But "what do I care? It's still better than when I got accused for stealing some girl's money." he said as he took a seat in the dean's office.
