I studied Bai Mei Xing's image in front of me. She was dressed in stunning black robes that draped across her breasts and fell down in waves to her knees. It was one of those high-low dresses with the back side touching the floor. Her hair was nothing short of perfection; the long black locks hung down over her shoulders in a silky waterfall. There was a black metal crown on her head, gleaming in the light of whatever room she was in.
She sat there and stared at me just like I was staring at her. It wasn't lost on me that she was dressed in black robes while here I was, in a borrowed white dress that didn't even fit me properly. She had knee-high boots on her feet while I had nothing on mine.
She was the queen, and I was nothing more than a peasant.
"Do you know the name of the ship that took you from Earth?" Mei Xing asked suddenly, taking me out of my thoughts. "I know Jun Li is still looking for a few of them."
