Ba'dqeel watched the Goddess from over top of Ariel's head as she turned bright red to purple to grey. Clearly, the female didn't approve of what Ariel had said, but that wasn't a big deal for Ba'dqeel. He never believed in the old Gods anyway.
And if Ariel had any say in the matter, Dakar wouldn't either.
"You will regret not taking the throne," sneered Baone as her face twisted in rage, but Ariel only waved her hand in dismissal.
"It never belonged to me in the first place," replied his brave mate. "Why should I take something that isn't mine?"
"I suggest you learn the way the universe works and quickly. Otherwise, you won't know how you die," said the Goddess before disappearing.
Fearful of her parting words, Ba'dqeel practically enveloped Ariel in a hug. "I won't let her do anything to you," he assured his mate as Zuhn'thian stepped back so he wouldn't be skewered by Ba'dqeel's horns.
