"Defensive positions!" screamed He'dtaalh as he pulled out what looked to be a silver cylinder. I had no idea where it had come from or even what it did, but with a single motion of his thumb, a bright green laser appeared out of it. "Protect Ariel!"
My other males all took out weapons as they circled me. Their backs were all to me as they looked frantically around for the threat.
"Do you see anything?" demanded Pure. He had two long, wicked blades clutched in his hands as he narrowed his eyes.
The problem was that it was pure darkness, and I was willing to bet that only Ma'stbaut and I had the technology available to see through it. As if thinking about him was enough to call him to me, I felt his tail wrapping around my thigh like it was trying to keep track of my movements.
All three suns were completely blocked out, but there were no stars or even a single moon to cut through the night.
