"Boom, motherfucker, boom?" murmured the Priest as he stood over me. His voice was soft and tentative as he repeated my words back to me. He muttered them a few times before simply shaking his head. "This does not translate."
I smiled up at him and nodded my head. "It's a traditional greeting of my people," I explained, keeping a straight face. "It means may your Gods be with you and bless you on this day."
Once again, the Priest studied me, his head tilted to the side as his unseeing eyes bore into me, judging the truth of my words.
"Then, boom, motherfucker, boom to you, too," he said after a second, and it took everything inside of me not to laugh.
People always seemed to think that the most dangerous ones were those who had nothing to live for. I can speak from experience that they aren't dangerous; they are just stupid and act without thinking.
