"Hello, my pretty birdy," murmured the voice in the darkness. The male who spoke strolled into the cavern my cage was in, his hands in his pant pockets. He was a bright silver color, similar to Ba'dqeel and the Rein, but he didn't have the same markings.
In fact, other than his color, there was not much linking him to my mate, but I still couldn't shake the feeling that they were somehow related.
"I'm sorry," I replied, a smile on my face. "Have we met before?" I was still sitting down, my back pressed against the cold bars. I had one leg bent, my chin resting on my knee, and my other leg was stretched forward, touching the bars on the 'far' side of my cage.
I was wearing black leggings and a long-sleeve crewneck shirt. Until everything was over, I wasn't taking the chances of being trapped and slowed down by my own skirts. I would wear pants, no matter how much I missed my dresses.
