Still grumbling under my breath at the fact that Gabriel called He'dtaalh dumb, I was startled to see Pure swimming down to see me.
He stopped about two feet in front of me and just looked at me, his eyes moving over my body as if to make sure that I was okay. Happy, I shot toward him and wrapped my arms and legs around him.
I really thought that I wouldn't be able to see him again, so to know that I was not only alive and well but that he was still there meant the world to me.
As soon as I touched him, Pure gripped me around the waist and pulled me in closer, his nose right against my neck. I didn't feel him breathing in order to take my scent, and I wondered if he even realized that he could breathe underwater.
And that this wasn't exactly water.
