Shade was the only one not affected by the chamber. It stood there, watching them, as if knowing what they were encountering. Cedric sat and waited for Ember to overcome her trial with his familiar.
Ember seemed to be struggling in her own trial. Her feverish dream lasted a while, unlike Cedric, who dispelled the illusion in a heartbeat. It might have been his passive skills or willpower, but Cedric wanted to believe it was because he had moved on.
"No… please…" muttered Ember in her sleep as she cried. Cedric stared at her with a saddened expression. Although he didn't know what she had suffered before becoming his retainer, it still pained him to see her like this.
"How can I help her?" Cedric looked through his system for a way to save her and found a skill that would help. The Puppeteer Skill allowed him to manipulate others, but could he use it to help Ember?
