Kain seemed to be losing his mind as he staggered backward, screaming at Cedric. His words did not even register in Cedric's head because he was absorbed in the Minotaur's last struggle.
The sand worm was the last to survive, aside from the Hill Troll, but it made its escape toward its master. As for the Minotaur, it came face to face with the Hill Troll, which was suffering under the barrage of attacks from Ember.
"She's with me," Cedric warned the Minotaur about Ember, and it seemed to understand as it brandished its axe. Vengeful killing intent rose from the Minotaur, rising like steam. It could also be the monster reaching its limits.
Cedric had limited mana. The monster consumed all of it, even the bits he managed to regenerate with his monstrous willpower. It was pushing through its limits just to seek revenge.
