Cedric understood that the Shadow Roc had released his shadow from its chains, allowing him to use it as a weapon that could be detached from his body. However, to wield the sword given to him by the system, he would need the power of shadows.

The weak voice whispered in his ears, and Cedric recognized it instantly. It was the voice of the sentient shadow he had absorbed. It lent him its strength so he could use the feather sword.

The two swords clashed, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. Cedric grinned at the Shadow Knight, who had been too strong for him just a few hours ago. But with his current strength and the new sword, he could now contend with him.
"I hope there isn't another person underneath you," Cedric said, glaring at the Shadow Knight, who retracted his sword and struck again. The two swords clashed once, then again, and a third time.
