Everything happened in a matter of seconds. Sifeng kept getting faster and more agile with each attack. It used to take him close to a minute to deliver an attack before, but now it only took seconds. It hadn't even been half a minute since his last attack before three more slashes came.
The chief spat out blood, holding onto his chest.
'I didn't know this is how people feel whenever I use my energy attack on them.'
He thought, he could feel his organs burning slightly, as if affected by a slow poison. Placing his hand on his chest, he quickly got up in one motion. Sifeng was already preparing another attack, striking the air several times.
The chief saw five energy slashes leave Sifeng's sword, heading his way. He couldn't take it anymore and needed to act fast before others arrived. He threw his fist outward, and a large golden energy ball left his fist, heading towards Sifeng. The chief's energy ball moved faster, consuming the five slashes Sifeng had made. It continued moving forward, ready to consume the boy with its attack.
Sensing the danger within the large energy ball, Sifeng made several strikes in a swift motion, hoping to dissipate the energy ball before it reached him. At the same time, the glowing energy around his body moved, it moves like it was alive and condensed in one area in front of him.
The chief couldn't see the movement of the glow clearly as the energy ball had completely blocked his sight. It was only a few inches away from consuming Sifeng. The chief didn't see what happened next, but he heard the sound of something collapsing. When he could finally see in front of him again, everything had changed.
The front wall was no more.
The hallway was visible from where he stood, and a mass of rubble lay in front of him. Sifeng was buried under the rubble. The chief quickly rushed over to the rubble, seeing Sifeng's hand peeking out from underneath. Clearing the rubble away, he fished him out and examined his body. The boy had no physical injuries; his body was intact, and he was still breathing but not moving and his eyes is shut.
'I knew the attack wouldn't kill him, but it's a surprise that he has no injuries. That energy must have protected him. I need to get him out of here before others come.'
He quickly picked him up and ran to the back of the room, approaching a wall with different symbols and intricate patterns etched onto it.
'Where should I send him?'
He wondered. He didn't have much time to think because he could already hear the sound of heavy footsteps approaching the room fervently but still far away. The elders would soon be here.
Approaching one of the formations, he placed his palm on it, making his life energy flow into the formation at a fast pace. After all the symbols had been circulated with the energy, the formation glowed brightly, creating a large glowing portal. The golden energy shone brightly, and the chief wasted no time before shoving Sifeng into the portal.
After seeing that the boy had been consumed by the portal, the chief inserted his energy into another formation beside it. It shone brightly for just a second before starting to die down. As it did, the portal also began to close, the golden glow around it fading along with the other formation.
Finally, after what seemed like half a minute, the portal had completely closed, and the glow had been extinguished. But someone had entered the room before the last flicker of energy disappeared.
"What's that and what happened here?"
Sen, the deputy chief, asked as he stepped into the room, now a complete mess. His gaze was fixed on the formation on the wall where he had seen the golden flicker disappear.
'Isn't that the portal opening spell? Did he just use it? And why? Also, where does this lead to? The symbols he uses are always hard to understand, ' Sen thought.
"Why are you here?"
The chief asked, noticing that the deputy was staring right behind him. He already knew what he was looking at.
'Why must he be the one to arrive first?
He thought.
"I was training my new disciple when I heard and felt the several clashex betwes two great powers. I was worried that a powerful demon might have broken in, so I rushed here," the deputy chief said, finally moving his gaze away from the formation and onto the chief.
"What in the world happened here? Did you two have a little scuffle?"
One of the elders asked as he came in before the others. It was the old man with complete white hair. Seeing the chief and the deputy standing opposite each other in a staring battle, he couldn't help but think they had just clashed.
"No, Elder Feng, I just got here now, and I'm asking him the same question you just asked," the deputy replied.
"Who did this? Did a devil break in?"
Another elder asked with a worried look as they all stared at the broken wall. The building had been reinforced with powerful spell formations that were always active. As long as they were receiving external power, the spells were supposed to make the walls of the building impenetrable. So, looking at the chief's training room wall destroyed like this, they were all worried. If a devil had really broken in, they knew it would cause a great cataclysm for the Venom Sect.
"A devil did not break in. I was just doing some training and overused my power. I guess the spells are running low on power supply, which is why the wall is this damaged,"
The chief said as he rolled the sleeve of his robe down.
"You should control your power next time. The disciples are worried. I'll call someone to fix this up and power the spell with the few demon life cores we have," the old man said as he turned around, walking away, and the others did the same.
The deputy looked around a few more times before stopping his gaze on the large crater on the floor. "Wait, where's your disciple?" he asked. The elders stopped, and the old man quickly turned around in one swift motion.
"Don't tell me you accidentally killed him when your power was overused."
He asked.
The chief hasn't moved from his position as he stare at the deputy with intense gaze.
'This man keeps getting on my nerves every time, should I kill him?'
"Why? Why are you asking about my disciple, are guys here to interrogate me or just to check what happened here."
The chief said as he started moving forward.
