Chapter 22 - The Sect Citadel

Sifeng didn't know what's waiting for him in the Academy, but he knew one thing for sure, life will be tough for him there and he might regret his idea of not going with Kim's plan.

'Whichever way, I'm not dying there.'

That's his main quest, not to die in the Academy, as long as he's still breathing, nothing is impossible.

Holding the cheerful masked man so tight like he's holding onto his life, the wind plays with his hair as it makes it dance behind him by blowing it backward. The wind is getting wilder as they ascend to heavens height but for some reason, it's not affecting the two men, neither Sifeng. It seems they're using some spell to control the wind, he thought he would have to close his eyes till they get to their destination but his eyes was opened wide and clear as a day.

He could only feel the after effect of the wind from behind as it blow his hair.

They traveled quite a long distance for several hours without getting to their destination, whenever Sifeng look down, his heart always beat faster as imagine falling from the crazy height they're flying. What laid below even made him stopped breathing at times, after they left Master Che and Kim's sight, he could no longer see what is known as land.

All he could see is deep and thick forest, whenever his gaze moves below, cold sweat would run down his spine for what he could see. Silhouette of different creatures he haven't seen before in his entire life, he would sometimes see what look like human but different from being human. He could swear that he heard several evil whispers when seeing some creatures that he couldn't defined.

"Hey kid, don't look down, you'll get yourself killed."

The man he was holding said after feeling his shaking body.

He moves up after saying those words, going higher that Sifeng could no longer see the forest again, what could only been seen is a thick fog that travels below the sky and his gaze could not pierce it. Apart from the masked man he was holding onto and his comrade beside them, Sifeng could not see anything again, all he could see around them is nothing. There was an impenetrable fog of nothingness ahead of them, the same thing could be seen behind them and when looking up and down, nothing could be seen apart from the impenetrable fog of nothingness.

Sifeng could only guess that they're traveling close to the sky, as if they're moving up to heaven.

'Maybe I can see the God and ask him why I got transported in this damned world.'

But he knew their destination is not to the heavens gate, not only because they're moving straight and not upward, but because he knew a mere mortal like them could not be allowed in heaven, only when they're dead that they can have the chance to visit heaven.

But Sifeng is not planning to die in this damned world, even though he knew these people could kill him without breaking a sweat.

'And who said this people are mere mortals, people that can move up to this height without an aircraft.'

After traveling for what look like eternity in the fog of nothingness, Sifeng could finally see something, up ahead, what could only be describe as a vast expanse of water could be seen stretching far and wide, the river seems to get no boundary, lacking any form of barrier from all sides, it just flow continuously.

Sifeng could swear that he haven't seen a river since he got to this world.

It seems the men are lowering their flight as they got close to the domain of the river, there's nothing on the river and it's as clear as a day, not even a single tree or dirt could be seen on it. He was about to think that the Sect Academy was built inside the boundless river as the men descended, but then he spot something up ahead.

He couldn't see it clearly, a tiny black dot rose in the middle of the river, well he isn't sure if it's the middle of the river because it's presumed to be boundless, so it has no length but he could see the tiny dot rising somewhere in the river and it's getting larger as they got closer.

He couldn't describe what it is but one thing is clear, they're approaching the dot as the men move towards it and the closer they get to it, the larger the dot becomes.

Until Sifeng could finally see it clearly, he could now see the every details of the black dot as it has gotten closer enough and his mouth was left wide opened.

"What."

Rising from within the boundless river is a lone and large mountain, the mountain is so tall and large that it seems the peak is piercing the sky and it's just wide enough for a city to be built on it. But instead of building a city on the single mountain lost in the middle of a boundless river, a large ancient temple could be seen at the peak of the mountain and the two masked men landed softly just outside the temple atop the mountain.

Sifeng look around as he study his surrounding after they descended from the heavens height. The temple is built with some ancient black rock looking the same as the lone mountain, it doesn't look anything like the one the Nara clan leader lives with his family.

Instead of the 7 triangular covers of the Nara clan building, this has a single cone like cover that it's peak is hidden from Sifeng's sight as it stretches into the fog of nothingness below the sky. The temple itself is not that appealing as it looks like what Sifeng could think a temple look like, but this is incredibly large, large enough to be mistakenly described as an ancient coliseum if not for its temple structure. And as Sifeng managed to stretch his gaze behind the temple, he could see nothing but the boundless river that moves on.

"Hey little tiger, welcome to the Sect Citadel and your new home."

The man with black raven hair said in his cheerful tone.

'Huh, what.'

He had finally arrived at the Sect Citadel where the Sect Academy is located.
