He dreams of travel, adventure and exciting battles, but he's also full of clichés: he thinks that to be a legend is to fall into one's lap, so convinced of a great destiny, he spends his youth training alone, waiting for a fateful event. Unsuccessful, he decides to become a soldier in order to advance as quickly as possible, but soon realizes he's powerless.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : I want to be a legend

-RAAAAAAAAHHH!!!

A knight violently attacks a dragon, the flames are unleashed and the knight isn't sure he'll make it.

But this simple battle scene will light up the heart and mind of a child, Arthur, who is reading an adventure book. His eyes are drawn to the book, and his mouth is wide open with a smile, the book is illustrated, telling the story of a legendary hero from the land where he lives.

Fascinated by the story, the child's cheeks and ears turn red, he closes the book and throws it on the floor.

-IT'S DECIDED! I'M GOING TO BE A LEGEND TOO!

He begins to pick up a wooden sword, which he uses as a toy, and uses it to strike into the void.

After reading many books about legends, he learned two things: heroes either forged themselves and accomplished great feats, or they were spotted and trained by a master.

Not knowing which to choose, he decided to train, hoping that someone would notice him.

A year goes by, he's 6 and nothing has happened, he rereads the books to try and figure out how to become a legend, then notices another thing many legends have in common: they had no parents.

He turns to his parents, glowering at them.

-Do you know why the kid's looking at us like that?

-He must be hungry.

But killing his parents is a little too extreme, and would make him a murderer, so he settles for sword training.

Another year goes by, and he's 7. He figures that sword training isn't enough, so he opts to try learning magic with a book called "The Basics of Magic Volume.1".

But he doesn't understand the symbols, so he abandons the idea and continues training.

He is now 8 years old.

His wooden sword is completely worn out and worn out, so he thinks he should switch to a real sword, and that this is even a good opportunity for him to do his "special legend training".

The plan is simple: set off into the forest on the pretext of gathering resources, taking only a knife to defend himself and carve branches. He prepares himself for the survival of a legend.

As he leaves, his mother says to him:

-Have a nice trip!

-Yes, yes!

He smiles with pride at having fooled his parents.

"I'll be back much stronger.

-Isn't the forest a bit dangerous at his age?

-There's not a soul around, don't worry, dear.

-You're right!

The father doesn't get more involved than that, and the mother soon loses her concern.

Arriving in the forest, the child hurries off.

"Okay, I need a campfire and some food to last me the longest!

He hurries off and builds a makeshift campfire.

"Perfect, I shouldn't be cold tonight.

It's the middle of the morning.

He hears noises and reflexively tries to hide.

"Shit! I'm not ready to fight yet!!!"

It's 2 villagers.

-Hey, you can't light a fire here!

They put out the small fire by crushing it with their feet, and Arthur gets fried.

-Be careful next time, Arthur!

-I'll be careful. Sorry about that.

Arthur is dejected, but quickly regains his usual motivation.

"Okay! So much for the fire! I'm going to look for food if I don't want to starve to death!

Step by step he makes his way through the forest, finding, first mushrooms, then berries, then more mushrooms.

His arms overflowing with food, he's dismayed by how easy it is to find everything, there's even a well for water.

"DAMN!!!" he throws everything on the ground.

"Well, the campfire's a no-go, food's a no-go too, so all that's left for me to do is fight wild animals!"

He's on the lookout for the slightest noise, the slightest movement, and that's when two red eyes pop out of a bush.

"Here's my chance!"

Shaking with both fear and excitement, he attacks first, letting out a scream.

-YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

From the bush, a canine pounces on him, the knife in his hand falls to the ground, the beast drooling on his face, and he thinks his life is over.

But it's only Roffle, a local farmer's dog, passing by.

-Oh Arthur, are you having fun with Roffle? How sweet.

Arthur is dejected, while the dog licks his face.He comes home at the end of the day all dirty, probably after playing with the dog all day.

-Arthur! Go and wash up quickly.

"But wait.... Heroes surely don't have time to wash! This is my last chance!"

He gives his mother a satisfied smile, implying that he doesn't need to wash.

But he's caught by an arm and thrown straight into the bath, trying to make do as he can, saying he's resisted to the bitter end like a true hero!

Now that he's 10 years old, he has to help out in his parents' fields, doing only the small tasks, but working all the same, slowing him down in his training, ripping up turnips imagining they're the heads of villains, he calls it "Special Legend Training: Agricultural Version".

The rest of the day he trains with a sword, he has an old one that his father used.

One evening at the table.

-He strikes again... Do you think he wants to be a soldier?

-Isn't he just hyperactive?

-I'm not really sure...

-Boarf, let him have fun, he's still young, he'll get tired of it.

-You're right!

Once again, parents don't seem very involved.

Arthur, who was on the other side of the door, had just heard: "Do you think he wants to be a soldier?

"That's it it's finally the long-awaited moment of 'THE PARENTAL DISPUTE', we're going to fight for my future, I'm going to run away AND LA! DRAMATIC MOMENT! The village will be razed to the ground by demons, and under the wrath of vengeance I'll become a legend!"

He walks back into the room with another satisfied smile knowing they're going to argue.

-DAD! MOTHER!

-Arthur! You scared the hell out of me!

"Perfect she'll get more upset!!!"

-Go get changed, we're going to eat!

In the end, they don't argue.

While he's changing, he imagines the whole argument in his head, his arguments unstoppable.

Back in the kitchen, if they don't want to argue, he just has to start it! He strikes a very serious pose.

-I'm going to be a legendary warrior.

"So how are you going to react to your only son's outsized dream ????!"

-Well said! Courage, son!

-A great warrior must eat well!

-Ah. Thank you.

He eats his meal, and leaves for his room before shouting inwardly "WHY IS MY FAMILY SO BENEFICIAL AAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!"

He looks out of the window "I can only hope for a demon attack".
