The room was dark with only little to no light coming out of the cracks from the doorframe and the windowframe, the atmosphere was dense.
'... Son ... my dearest son...'
'... Mommy? What's wrong..?'
Tears fell from the woman's eyes as she stared down at her son infront of her.
'... My child... Mommy will be going first ok..? Mommy will...'
'...what? No, no, no, no mommy..! Why are you leaving me!'
The child widened his eyes, that child was skinny and small, with a bruised hands and legs, the face too, there was not a single place bruises or injuries weren't there. That child has and is suffering a lot.
'Don't go mommy..!'
'I'm very sorry my... my child... I'll have to go... Very soon... maybe tomorrow... God will also set you free...'
The woman stepped back, cleaning tightly on her suitcase, more tears ran down her face, she didn't want to leave her son but she had to, for her own good, she had to leave.
'No! Mommy! Don't leave me!'
The child stretched his arms to his mother, hopping that she would change her mind and hug him once more like she always did... But she didn't even share a glance at him, after she turned away, there was not a chance she would turn back and hug him.
'Mommy! N-no! Take me with you too..! I promise I'll be good! Mommy!'
No matter how much he tried to catch up with him mother, he felt like there was an invisible wall separating them, never being able to reach his mother.
Tears ran down the child's face as soon as he realised she wasn't going to look back at him and take him with her, but he kept on calling out to his mom who had now abandoned him.
'Mommy! I—'
A mascular figure appeared behind the child, he looked angry and annoyed, he held a belt in his right hand while glaring at the child.
'Come here, to your father, A—'
...
'...Res...'
'ARES!'
Ares shot up, widening his eyes as he stared blankly at Vera who had an annoyed expression on her face, crossing her arms with her bag behind her.
"How long are you doing to sleep! The school is already over, we gotta go home don't forget that, come, let's go. Xemi said she'll walk slowly so we can catch up."
"...Right... I fell asleep..." Ares mumbled, shifting his eyes to look at the table. "...So it was a dream? of course it's a dream... Of course..." Ares started laughing, kind of creeping Vera out.
"W-what the fridge... Are you insane? I think you should you see a therapist." Vera didn't hear what Ares was mumbling about but him laughing suddenly kind of felt weird.
"... Cut it out Ares... I'm going first than, yeah I'll go." Vera dropped a sweat before turning away, giving a glance at Ares before sighing and catching up with Xemi.
"Right it's all just a dream... What a dumass you are Ares... it already happened, how can it happen the second time." Ares put his hair back, and noticed that he was sweating a lot.
He glanced at the doorframe before picking his bag up, and exiting the classroom, running down the hallway and catching up with the two girls who was just chatting, walking slow so Ares could catch up.
"Oh! You caught up Ares." Xemi said brightly as always. Ares walking on her right instead of behind them and just nodded.
"Me and Vera— I mean all of us, Kiki and Ivan are going to Sister Candra's food stall, and you, you are coming with us too"
"Alright, I'm hungry anyways."
"Heeey, pookie, let's stop taking out sweet time and walk faster... I'm hungry, let Ares carry you, he's faster anywaysss bye~!" Vera smiled before running off, she was too hungry to be walking slowly.
So just as Vera said, Xemi hoped on Ares's back, before he started running to the exit almost catching up with Vera, right behind her.
It was not long after the group got together, just infront of the food stall. The food stall wasn't very known by people except the students from the nearby schools and colleges, but everyone who tasted the food from there, would say that it's the most delicious thing they ate.
"Excuse me" Ivan said, as he sat on one of the stools there, Ares sitting on the right of Ivan.
"Ooh! You guys are back! Sister Candra was feeling really bored without you people." A tall yet slightly muscular woman said happily as she stood on the other side of the counter.
"Ahlan Sister Candra!" Xemi said as he leaned in, sitting on the corner with Vera besides her.
"Oh Xemi, Assalamu alaikum." Candra greeted all of them one by one. Candra took their orders and starts preparing for them, the smell was already too good to be true
Two veg fried rice for Xemi and Ivan as they often eat that, a bowl of Sinju for Vera and Kiki, since they really liked it, and they actually couldn't believe that Sinju originated from India, Manipur, and lastly, a bowl of noodles for Ares.
Xemi, and Vera, kept on talking about how good the food were, in some parts Kiki also joined, not that Candra hated it, she liked listening to people compliment the food she makes than only she knows that she did well.
"Sister Candra is very happy to hear that." She smiled again.
"Haaaaheeh, it's alright Sister Candraaa! We're speaking facts!" Vera shrugged with a smirk.
"Yeah! Vera's right, and Sister Candra's food is always delicious" Xemi added with a smile, covering her mouth as she chewed on her fried rice.
"If one day, Sister Candra's food taste bad, I'm going to be 100% sure that isn't Sister Candra, since the one we know always makes delicious food" Kiki said with his catlike mile, his ' :3 ' makes people find him more handsome.
"You two, finish you food and than talk, talking while eating is not good, you too Kiki."
"Yes sir" Xemi and Vera said in the same time right after Ivan told them not to talk while eating, Kiki chuckled before nodding and continuing to eat.
No matter what the situation they were in, Ivan would always be the parent of the group, the Mom, to be precise.
He always had a parently personality, taking care of others and teaching them what's wrong and right, hearing them out when others don't.
Vera says 'He's the whole forest, green, get it?'
Xemi says 'There is no way anyone will ever call Ivan toxic.'
Ares says 'He's a very understanding and a good one, I'm sure of it"
Kiki says 'He's really like my mom and sometimes even my dad, he'll be a great dad one day'
What does Ivan think?
'... I think... I'm putting to much pressure on them, I should stop forcing them to not skip classes'
