Chereads / Friendships Never Last / Chapter 9 - chapter 8

Chapter 9 - chapter 8

Today as well, it was a chilly day. Half the students in the class was roaming around and panicking while some sat in their own seats with their books open studying in the last minute.

Vera too, she was frustrated studying but... she wasn't exactly studying... she was just staring at her book trying to focus but failed to do so before she gave up, shut her book closed and began prying.

Xemi and Ares on the other hand were sleeping, not even the loud noises in the background could wake them up, they were deep asleep.

The classroom door slid open. A teacher with her brunette hair tied in a low pong tail entered the classroom with a bag in her left and testpaper in her right. The students groaned as they started to speedrun their studying.

"Good morning my loveliest students! Please keep your books inside your bag, and class monitor, distrub the test notebooks!" The brunette teacher announced the class as she placed the papers on her desk.

A clueless student in the front seat was lifeless now... he didn't know there was a test.

With no one listening to her, the teacher, she repeated again. "Students, please keep your books and distribute the test notebooks"

Some listened, while the others didn't and still had their books on their table.

The brunette teacher's eyebrow narrowed, slamming her palm on the table which made a loud noise "I said... KEEP YOUR BOOKS BACK! and Molina, aren't you the monitor? Distrub the notebooks right now what're you waiting for?!" She exclaimed, now annoyed as no one listened to her.

All the students got startled by her sudden burst that even the sleeping students, Ares, Xemi and the quiet kid woke up from their sleep.

"Y-yes miss!" Molina, the class monitor shot up from her seat, grabbed her glasses and put them on. She began to quickly distribute the test notebooks so that no more time is wasted.

All the 30 students students kept their books inside their bags, not under their desk with only their pencil box or their water bottles were on the desk as they prepared themselves of the test.

Some were praying that they would pass, or at least just get the pass mark because the test is for 20 marks and this mark really matters for internal.

"... Lord, it's me again... please, lend me some of your wisdom again..." Prayed Vera under her breath.

Molina sat back in her seat after she completed distributing all the test notebooks. The brunette teacher smiled, and she began to give out the papers one by one to all the students without leaving any out. "No one will be cheating in this test, if you are caught you will not be given any last chances and directly a zero because even if you're not a genius you all know cheating is not good, and cheating is failing!"

A student sighed in annoyance, slightly turning to his friend and whispering to him 'why does she yap so much, it's so annoying...'

"I heard you" She turned to the boy and passed him his paper "Toshi, behave yourself." She warnned him. he was the last to get the paper, so she went and sat back down on her seat and watched her students suffer. "Hope you all do well, I'm hoping for at least 15 above from all of you. Full marks from Ares and Ivan."

The test began. It wasn't like they were told they were going to have a test just the day before the test will be taken, it was a week ago when they were told and because it was week ago, they might've forgotten to study.

A very calm, and serious student intensely stared at the paper before he pushed his hair back standing up and submitting his test notebook along with the paper inside "Here, Miss Asang."

"hm? it's only been ten minutes since the test started, how are you done so fast?" Questioned the teacher, Asang. Not a word came out from the students word, he just blinked seven to eight times before he turned and went back to his seat.

A student with her hair to her side, and resting her head on her left hand continued writing but it was not longer she paused, shaking her pen to get the ink out than realising that her ink had finished. She then put her pen inside her pencil box pulling out a mew pen which was a gel pen so if made her handwriting diffrent. She would glace at her pencil box now and then, she had a paper full of answers, the answers to all the important questions she knew was coming and carried lots of marks. Her benchmate didn't snitch, they helped eachother when they didn't know the answers, they cheated in the test together, those two were bestfriends.

But for Vera and Xemi... both of them didn't study, they didn't prepare anything to chest so they would just stare at the paper thinking of what to write. Vera sobbed as she wrote nonsense, even writing 'Jesus is always the answer' in the most difficult question and gave it in. Xemi, on the other hand, did some small doodles in the corner of the page, actually, she drew in the whole page except the middle and when the bell rang she gave it in.

"Alright students, wait for your next subject teacher to come, don't make any noises and don't go peeking outside the door" Asang reminded the students not to go out of the class, she left the class carrying all the text notebooks so she could check.

There was silence for a few minutes before the students started chattering, out of their seats and some near the door looking out in the hallway to see if any teacher was coming or not.

Vera's sobbing stopped and it was instead replaced with a lifeless stare at the ceiling that questions 'what even is the purpose of life?'

Xemi didn't want to distrub Vera's silence so she went to Ares, Ivan and Kiki. "Vera's depressed again" she sighed looking at Vera over her shoulders. "Say, how'd you guys do in your test?"

"I did my best, but I don't think I'll pass this one... hahah... I really forgot about the test." answered Kiki with his left hand in his hip.

"I did good." Ivan mumbled, but it was loud enough for the other three to hear.

"You'll pass for sure, and as for Ares... 20/20 right?" Grumbled Xemi, jealous because she knew Ares is getting full marks. Ares was a genius, he kind of knew that, he was born with that mind so even without studying he can pass.

"Of course, I can write that test with my eyes closed and still get full marks." Ares was proud of his intelligence, he had the brain that everyone wished they had.
