"Do know the difference between life and a race"
Speed Star felt her body being crushed by about a thousand pounds of concrete.
"It's easy to win"
All she could see around her was darkness.
"Really, how so?"
Her body was aching and in immense pain.
"All you have to do is run faster than everyone else",
She felt tired.
"*Chuckles lightly* Yeah, I guess. But where exactly are you running to?"
She was exhausted.
"The finish line"
And just wanted to shut her eyes but then…
"The difference between life and a race Daniela is…."
Speed Star managed to raise her hands, clutching them both in to a tight fist.
"…in a race you have a set goal…"
She began pounding against the concrete.
"...a set path and direction…"
Increasing the speed of her punches with each blow.
"…a finish line you're racing towards…"
Ignoring the pain and continuing to drive her fists through the concrete.
"But in life. You have none of that…"
She kept punching…
"You have no direction…"
..and punching…
"…no set path to follow…"
…and punching…
"That's scary"
Driving her fist more and more through the concrete.
"Yeah, *sigh* it is"
Feeling her bones begin to crack and break.
"But, you got to keep run. Pick a path and direction just keep running"
She gritted her teeth.
"Life is like a race. The only difference is, you choose your own track and never stop running."
Speed Star then, with a might yell, launched a fist as fast and as hard as she could straight through the concrete.
"Never quit the race"
Speed Star burst out of the rumble, bruised with more than a few broken bones, her eyes set on Charge before racing straight for him. Launching her feet straight at his stomach and kicking him so hard it caused him to take a few steps back. Then before he could recover she proceeded to launch another kick to the side of his face but he managed to catch her leg and fling her away only for her to race away immediately her feet reached the ground before proceeding to dash straight for him and bombard him with flurry of punches with her sour and broken knuckles. Ignoring all the pain racing through with each blow delivered and just kept punching and punching, giving it her all, even reaching the point where her gloves began to wear and tear reveal her extremely sore and broken knuckles but eventually…
She launched another blow but this time it was slow and weak, and Charged managed to catch it and then proceeded to crush it underneath his massive fist, causing her to yell in immense with small drops of blood oozing out through her fist. Charge then proceeded to fling and then slam Speed Star down hard to the ground, forcing blood to gush out of her mouth due to the impact.
Charge then raised on a hand, clutched it in to a tight fist, and the launched it at her, dealing a final blow to put Speed Star down for the count but just. Before his fist could collide with her, time seemed to had slowed down for her, and everything including Charge's massive fist seemed to have come to a near halt. There as she laid on the ground, her body battered and beaten, her then mind began racing with flashes of fleeting memories that lasted less than a millisecond. She her life, a thrilling life filled with many adventures along with deaths, losses, betrayals, friends that turned to foes, and comrades that slowly drifted apart. A life stuck in an endless battle, a never ending one, one where she had to run and fight, racing head first in to danger, to be the hero and save the day.
*Sigh*, A life filled with regret and sacrifice. The life she choose.
Lying there at moment, about to be pummeled by Charge, she couldn't help but wonder why she couldn't bring herself stop, stop being Speed Star, stop being the hero, especially when she was so goddamn tired. She wanted nothing more than to rest and just shut her eyes with filling the crushing weight responsibility resting on her shoulders.
"Do you like being Speed Star?"
Those words echoed in her mind and then a smirk formed on her face.
"Yeah, now I remember", Speed Star spoke before time resumed and the massive fist struck the ground where she laid.
Charged then raised his fist up from the rumble cover ground only to find that Speed Star wasn't there.
"Hey Charge", a familiar voice spoke from behind him.
Charge then turned around and saw Speed Star standing behind him.
"Look it's getting late and I need to get up pretty early tomorrow so could we just wrap this up. I, at the very least want to get two hours of shut eye", said Speed Star.
Charge's nostrils then flared up as he went down on all fours before letting out a loud bellow and then charging straight for her.
A sly smirk just formed on Speed Star's face before rushing in at top speed, her bleeding fist clenched tightly as she readied herself to deliver the final blow. And like an unstoppable force hitting and immoveable object, the two collided, with the collision of hard fist and bleeding fist determining which of them would be the victor and which will fall.
