In a seemingly empty town, two men can be seen conversing in a dilapidated three story building.
"Victor, are you sure the convoy will head down the street?" questioned his partner in a low voice.
The man in question was peering down the street through a worn out SVD, observing for any movement in the darkness of the night before turning to his partner.
"Goddammit, Nikolai, I've already told you. Our informants said they'll pass the street sometime between 0100 and 0300. In the meantime make sure to check the PKM and RPG" hissed out Victor.
"It's nearly 0300, shouldn't they be here by now?" Nikolai further inquired.
"Holy fucking shit, do what I ask of you or I'll rip that mouth of yours so, you won't be able to ask any more fucking questions" growled Victor.
Nikolai could only step back and inspect their equipment as he was told.
Now his patience was running thin thanks to Nikolai's incessant questioning. In addition, the no show of the supposed convoy only further fueled his growing frustration. Glancing down at his watch the time displayed 0247.
Maybe our informants were provided fake intelligence to bait us into coming contemplated Victor.
Victor and Nikolai alongside a platoon of twenty eight men were tasked to intercept a convoy in a remote town of Tajikistan. Supposedly the convoy is in charge of transporting an unknown serum, of which was demanded to be secured at all cost by their employer.
The platoon was divided between three, three - story buildings each housing ten men each. Three men on the first and second floors, while the remaining four would stay on the third floor. A radio telephone operator would be stationed on the second floor with the task of coordinating with the other teams.
"Andrei, ask T1 if there's any signs of the convoy" asked Victor, as he turned to the man on the table handling their SINCGAR after he finished reprimanding Nikolai.
Equipping the headset and powering on the radio, Andrei turned to channel one.
"T3 to T1, do you copy? Over." asked Andrei.
Static filled the channel before being shortly answered by a flat voice.
"T1 to T3, what's the problem? Over."
"More of an inquiry. Do you have any visuals on the convoy? Over."
Static filled the channel again this time however the reply taking much longer.
"Headlights can be seen west of our current position. ETA eight minutes, prepare to engage. Over."
"Understood. Over." answered Andrei.
Taking off the headset Andrei walked to the back of the room picking up the RPG, while telling Victor and Nikolai to get ready.
"The convoy is approaching in about eight minutes, its game time ladies." snickered Andrei as he slowly positioned the RPG towards the street.
"Nikolai, take the other window and post up the PKM. Remember to fucking wait for Andrei to shoot the RPG before you start. We can't have the repeat of last time." barked out Victor.
Meanwhile Victor would continue to scope out the surrounding street.
-------
Shortly thereafter the howling winds would be overturned by the rumble of engines, which grew louder as a line of trucks approached.
A convoy of five trucks could be seen driving through the empty street. The surrounding darkness was soon liberated by the convoy's headlights. As the convoy steadily made its way through the street countless eyes watched in the dark.
