Awakening in a Foreign Realm
Jin Wei's eyes fluttered open, and the first thing he saw was a massive, swirling mass of vibrant colors above him. He blinked a few times, hoping the kaleidoscope would disappear, but the dizzying display persisted. He groaned, squeezing his eyes shut.
Maybe this was some bizarre side effect of staying up all night binge-watching his favorite TV series. Or maybe that expired milk he drank had more punch than he'd expected.
When he opened his eyes again, the swirling colors had thankfully resolved into a bright, clear sky. He slowly sat up, his body feeling weirdly... different. He glanced around and realized he was in some kind of lush, ancient garden, surrounded by exotic plants and chirping birds that seemed straight out of a fantasy novel.
"Great," he muttered. "I'm in Wonderland, and I didn't even get the courtesy of falling down a rabbit hole."He tried to stand but felt a strange heaviness in his limbs. Looking down, he noticed that his hands were not his hands. They were larger, calloused, and frankly, looked like they belonged to someone who spent a lot of time wrestling dragons or chopping down magical trees.
He wiggled his fingers experimentally. "Okay, this is new."Before he could fully process the bizarre situation, a sharp pain shot through his head, like someone had taken a jackhammer to his brain. He doubled over, clutching his temples, as a torrent of memories that weren't his own flooded his mind. Images of grand battles, celestial palaces, and kneeling followers flashed before his eyes. Amid the chaos, a name surfaced: Mo Li."Wait a minute," Jin Wei said aloud, piecing things together with all the finesse of a toddler doing a jigsaw puzzle.
"I'm in the body of some kind of an immortal being? Ah heck! I do like reading those kinda of novel but never wished to be a part of them!"As he struggled to come to terms with his new reality, he heard the rustling of leaves and turned to see a group of elaborately dressed people approaching.
They looked at him with respect and awe, as if they were gazing upon a celebrity. Jin Wei's heart sank. If these people were expecting Mo Li, the legendary Immortal, they were in for a colossal disappointment. The group reached him and immediately knelt, their foreheads touching the ground.
"O' great lord," an elderly man with a long white beard intoned, "we have awaited your return for centuries. Please, bless us with your wisdom and power."Jin Wei stared at them, his mind racing. Wisdom and power? The last time he'd tried to offer wisdom, he'd suggested his friend try eating spaghetti with chopsticks just for fun. And as for power, he couldn't even bench press his own body weight."Uh, rise, my... people," he said, trying to sound as majestic as possible while feeling like a total fraud.
The kneeling crowd stood, their eyes shining with reverence. Jin Wei swallowed hard. How long could he keep up this charade before someone noticed he was about as powerful as a soggy noodle? As the days passed, Jin Wei did his best to maintain the facade. He relied heavily on the fragmented memories of Mo Li that occasionally surfaced, using them to bluff his way through conversations with followers and sect leaders. Whenever someone asked him to demonstrate his divine powers, he'd feign deep meditation or mumble something about conserving his energy for the right moment. Surprisingly, it worked—at least for now.
One morning, as Jin Wei was pretending to meditate in the grand temple, he heard a commotion outside. He peeked through the door to see a young woman arguing with a group of stern-looking sect leaders. She had a wild look in her eyes and was gesticulating wildly. Jin Wei decided it was time to intervene—or at least look like he was intervening. He stepped outside, and the sect leaders immediately fell silent, bowing deeply.
The young woman, however, rushed up to him, her eyes wide with desperation. "Great Lord Mo Li, you must help me!" she cried. "My village is being terrorized by a monstrous beast, and only your divine power can save us!"Jin Wei's stomach did a nervous flip. A monstrous beast? He couldn't even handle a spider in his bathroom without a rolled-up newspaper. But he couldn't let these people down. Summoning every ounce of bravado he had, he nodded solemnly. "Fear not, young lady. I shall... deal with this beast."The sect leaders exchanged glances of approval, and Jin Wei's mind raced to come up with a plan. He couldn't fight a beast, but maybe he could outsmart it—or at least buy some time until he figured out what to do.
As I pondered a plan formed in my mind.
Plan A: runaway from is place( high risk of getting catch while fleeing)
Plan B: Send the desiples to do the work.
Plan C: just chill
Plan D: why worry? Pack the bag and do the work myself( high risk of getting killed)
