Chapter 2 - chapter 2

The pretenders trial

I took a deep breath, trying to muster some semblance of confidence. "Gather the strongest disciples," I declared, hoping my voice sounded authoritative. "We will face this beast together. Prepare yourselves for departure at once!"

The sect leaders nodded, visibly impressed by my decisiveness. They quickly began organizing a group of the most skilled disciples. Meanwhile, I tried to piece together a strategy that wouldn't end with me— or anyone else—dead.

As the group assembled, I took a moment to talk to a few disciples, probing for any useful information about the beast and its weaknesses. It turned out the beast was a massive, serpent-like creature that had been terrorizing the village for weeks.

When we were ready, I found myself leading a group of about twenty disciples, all looking to me for guidance. The weight of their expectations felt immense, but I reminded myself that I wasn't alone in this.

The journey to the village was surprisingly quick. The disciples moved with impressive speed and agility. When we arrived, I could see the destruction the beast had caused—houses were in ruins, crops trampled, and fear was palpable.

"Great Lord, the beast has been spotted in the forest just beyond the village," one of the disciples reported.

"Very well," I replied, trying to keep my voice steady. "We will lure the beast out and then work together to defeat it."

We ventured into the forest, and as we reached a clearing, I had an idea.

"Disciples, form a perimeter around the clearing," I instructed. "We will draw the beast out and take it down with a coordinated attack."

They quickly moved into position, their eyes sharp and weapons ready. I stood in the center, heart racing. I tried to remember the bits and pieces of Mo Li's abilities I'd seen in his memories. To my surprise, a faint glow began to emanate from my hands as I chanted some ancient incantations.

Before I could dwell on this, the ground shook, and the beast emerged from the forest. Its scales glittered in the sunlight, and I tried to stay calm.

"Now!" I shouted. The disciples sprang into action, launching their attack with precision.

The battle was intense. I did my best to support the disciples, using the glowing energy from my hands to create barriers and distract the beast when I could. It felt like the fight would never end, but eventually, our combined efforts began to take their toll on the creature.

With a final, desperate push, I managed to land a blow that sent the beast crashing to the ground. The disciples quickly moved in, ensuring the beast wouldn't rise again.

As the villagers emerged from their hiding places, cheering and praising me, I allowed myself a brief moment of relief. I had survived the battle and managed to live up to their expectations—for now.

But I knew this was only the beginning. If I was going to keep up this charade, I needed to learn quickly and figure out a way back to my own world before I faced an even greater challenge.

I build a facade that I am leading them. But in reality it was them who were carrying me. I felt like laughing out loud at my situation but if I do, I doubt I may be able to see the sun tomorrow.

As for now, all is good but one day they will find out. I should quickly flee from this place.

Next week would be the best opportunity. There is a competition between the core deciples of the sect. So, there is a probability that I can escape successfully but there is a high risk of getting caught.

'Ah what should I do, what should I do? Oh RIGHT! The star chase realm!'

In these past few days I have ransacked the library reading about 30% of the books currently present. And have found out that there are 9 levels or realms in this place, called the myriad realms.

1 Mortal Realm - place where mortal lives. Most of the people residing here are mortals with no spiritual roots nor cultivation.

2 Spirit Realm - The stage where individuals start to harness spiritual energy and develop their abilities.

3 Celestial Realm - Cultivators gain enhanced powers and access to celestial forces. Most sects are build here. And are called minor sects.

4 Immortal Realm - The name is immortal as here its the first path to achieve immortality. As your cultivation grows with it your life span do the same.

5 Divine Realm - Cultivators can assend to divine releam through gathering a dine orb. Here even babies are born as strong as a half immortal being.

6 Ethereal Realm - A realm of pure energy and spiritual transcendence, your just half path away from being a demi God. Here the hight stage is demigod level you can't do beyond if you wanna then you have to assend.

7 Transcendent Realm - Where beings transcend their physical and spiritual limits, achieving profound enlightenment. Getting the title the demigods.

8 Supreme Realm - The pinnacle of power, where cultivators have almost god-like control over their surroundings. But also with various restrictions.

9 Eternal Realm - The ultimate realm of existence, beyond the reach of time and space. It is also a legend. In these one million years no one has asended to this realm.

It many seem complicated but...ya it is.

I cabt even understand myself. But the best option for me is to got the the mortal Realm which is also called the star chase realm because of the renowned person the asura God.

He was the first one to asend from the mortal Realm to the pinnacle. But later he suddenly disappeared. People still speculate about his situation. His alias was star chaser. I read his biography and it was fantastic!

Ah its not the time to review a book. I should focus on my situation first. Where was I-

The next morning,

I got up from the comfy bed, dark circles under my eyes. I had been so engrossed in planning my escape that I hadn't slept at all.

As I stretched my body, a knock sounded from outside. "Great Lord, the Swirling Beast is expecting your presence.""Hmph," I said, trying to sound dignified. In reality, I wanted to dig a hole and jump in.

"Why do all these things fall on my delicate shoulders?"Originally, I had planned to cultivate, but if people here found out I had no cultivation base, my act would be exposed. I could be framed for possession, exorcised, or even killed.

The thought chilled me.

The Swirling Beast was Mo Li's sworn brother. I had overheard the maids discussing it. Never underestimate maids—they're powerful enough to defeat ten Nascent Soul Cultivators effortlessly. But now, the main challenge was dealing with this sworn brother.

He knew Mo Li far better than I ever could. Fooling others was one thing, but this big brother knew Mo Li more intimately than his own consorts.I paced around my room, biting my nails in anxiety.

Suddenly, an idea struck me, and I jumped for joy.

"Yes! I think this should work!"
