The next day, he told everyone about what happened the previous night.
Upon hearing what had transpired, the ladies were shocked and worried, but he pacified them.
He turned to the girls and the rest, sighing as he asked, "You sensed the fight last night, didn't you?"
"Yes, the powerful thunderclap was too loud for people like us who are either trained to battle or have experience in them." Mira nodded.
"It seems that we need more people to help us monitor our home. Too bad that the children are too young to be assigned for this task." Daniel frowned.
"Why don't we start recruiting members for our mercenary group? We don't need to fully trust them, just treat them as ordinary members." Frank suddenly said.
Daniel was stunned. He clapped his hands and said, "That is a brilliant idea! We have enough money to support multiple people, and using the large space of this estate, we can build our base without any worries."
"Yes, besides that, you already have some plans regarding this, didn't you?" Richard asked.
"Yes, the membership categories. Those that are considered members but not as vital to the group would be considered as outer members. Those that have started to earn our trust and respect would be inner members." Daniel nodded his head.
"What about us? What would be our category?" Asks Chris.
"Of course, we are considered as core members, basically similar to the elder status of most powers." Daniel stated like it was a matter of fact.
"We just need to fix one thing, and that is the ridiculous turn out that you sh*theads had put on us!" He glared at both Chris and Frank.
"Absolutely not!" Both instantly refused. They might agree with him most of the time, but this is something that they would vehemently refuse to accept.
"What the hell!? If we do not change our turn out, do you really think that anyone would be foolish enough to accept our terms!" He argued.
Of course, the two understand what he meant, but they still refused to accept the change.
"Mercenaries are a group of people that would do almost anything for money. Would they really accept such a harsh condition of giving half of their reward to us!?"
"They will accept." Suddenly, Frank said something shocking to them.
All of them turned to him with strange expressions. They felt like he was a fool.
Frank sighed. "The young ones might not accept the condition because they are young and ambitious, but for people at my age..."
Thinking about everything he experienced, he cannot help but feel complicated.
"Mercenary is a job that is incredibly risky. Not many survive to my age." Everyone agrees on this.
This is by no means a secret. That is why if you are an old mercenary, you would either be respected because of your wisdom or be disdained by your cowardice.
"Leave the recruitment to me. I know that most old folks like me would accept our condition in exchange for job security." He states.
Daniel can only sigh. "Okay, I know already! I cannot change your minds in our condition. It is something that all of you had accepted, so be it."
Hearing this, Chris and Frank finally smiled. The two of them feel proud of themselves for being able to force him to accept their condition until the end.
"I am gonna give Maverick a black eye after he returns from his mission." He left grumbling.
The two looked at each other and laughed. They are more than happy knowing that Maverick would be the one receiving the punishment.
His constant bragging about him breaking through silver rank in his age has been ticking them off recently.
The number of people requiring healing had decreased exponentially. Seeing this, Daniel decided to finish his mission.
"Too bad, the city lord is quite adamant of not making me join the fight in the undead battlefield." He sighs.
His two friends start laughing. "We also wish that you can join so that the three of us can fight alongside each other again."
"Hopefully, Bless can wake up so that she can produce her fruit once again to help us level from our current rank."
Everyone of them can agree to this, even his mother and aunties nod their heads.
They might not have any profession, but the fruit helps them from training their physical bodies.
The children are also able to gain something from drinking the soup made from the fruit.
They only need to enhance the meats of the beast monsters to acquire the fruit. For people like them, this is quite a favorable exchange.
"Is Bless still sleeping?" Asks Bryan. The others might not know, but his members know that Bless is actually his monster pet.
"Yes, it seems that the bloodline of a dragon is truly domineering. Even someone as gluttonous as Bless is having a hard time digesting all the energy that she had absorbed."
"At least we know that she would wake up a stronger being. Together with Liliaghant and Terra, you would be able to defeat any silver ranker." Richard stated.
"Hmm, I think that is going to be difficult. You should remember that there are some weird people from the Salvation Church." He explains.
Their expression turns solemn. They remember the silver ranker that gave Daniel a hard time.
"I am not that worried. They have their inhumane experiments while we have our cultivation technique!" Bryan suddenly said.
Their worries immediately disappear after hearing this. Through their constant training and cultivation, they feel their strength rapidly increasing.
Especially for Frank, other than basic stance training, he does not need to continue training physically like others.
His dream occupation as a blacksmith has tempered his body.
Daniel even wants to pair everyone with a body tempering technique, but he realizes that it is already redundant since their cultivation technique also tempers their bodies.
Night came. Daniel immediately told everyone that he would leave the mansion for the week and would probably return three days or a week later.
He had to give them a definite number of days as he knows that they would be anxious if he just silently left.
"Hahaha, then, I think Chris should also take a mission. Since you are not here, our task of guarding you would be dissolved." Frank stated.
"No, I need to continue tempering my foundation. Unlike you who have your other profession to help you, I only have basic physical training to help me." Chris shakes his head.
"Yeah, I heard from Daniel that Chris can only train at night or in total darkness in order to master the basic mastery of his technique." Richard added.
While their group were discussing what to do while Daniel is gone, the person they are talking about is now preparing to once again enter his other persona.
"System, does suppressing the trait that I had obtained from the dragon bloodline harm me?" He asks.
[Negative, the host's body is not fragile as to lose to a bloodline but following the natural prideful state of the dragon lineage would increase the chance of enlightenment in terms of using dragon power.]
"It seems that going in a rampage back on the Black Market City was truly helpful for me." He mutters.
His eyes narrow as he releases a pressure that is different from his usual aura.
"There is a battlefield present near this city. The best place for me to gain more experience and train myself properly in the ways of assassins."
Unaware about the current events in the estate, the city lord was listening to the report of the spies that he put inside the estate.
"Are they trying to go against me!?" The city lord slams his fist on the table.
From his expression, one can easily recognize that he is furious.
The spy was trembling. This is the first time he comes face to face with his lord's anger.
His might as one of the elites of the gold rank was totally going berserk.
The city lord takes a deep breath to calm his nerves as he sits back down.
"Tell that clan that if they dare touch any of his family members, I will not hesitate to attack them." He snorts.
Daniel is currently too important for him. The Skeleton King would be unable to access any death energy in the surrounding area as long as he is nearby.
Without the support of the death energy, he is more than confident that he can go toe to toe with him.
"Affirmative sir." The spy hurriedly nods his head and left to inform the clan that the cold-hearted spy belongs to.
Meanwhile, Daniel arrives at the entrance of the black market once again. He can sense that the atmosphere is quite tense.
He is not surprised, since the Salvation Church decided to make a move, then, they would certainly fortify their base in this city.
