Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 Theme: The first Encounter.

Mark POV

Desert, not particles nor sand but a mixture of both, the wind blows profusely around the desert land, causing little wind storms all over the land. It has ups and downs. At times sloppy down like a valley and again up into the desert hills.

The desert sand was hot beneath my feet, and the sun beat down on my head with relentless intensity. Sweat trickled down my face for the first time ever, as I can remember, stinking my eyes. But we couldn't stop now, not when we were so close to the pyramid. Me, Joy, and five others from the Star Lab auxiliary were assigned to this chapter. The five are Matthew, Ryan, Lucia, Jay, and Lily.

Together, we had to find out what was inside the pyramid and what secrets it held that made the aliens stop in this part of the world. I know Egypt itself is an ancient country that holds many significant secrets.

As we drew closer, four elegant spaceships sat around the pyramid itself, about twenty miles from us. Nevertheless, we keep moving towards them. The air around the pyramid is quite different from the others; it feels like ancient air.

"Hey Matthew," I called. "Send the drone ahead."

"Yes, boss!" he said.

I watch as Matthew taps on a green button on his wristwatch and a ball pops out from behind his bag. I watched as the ball began to change form, turning into different shapes, forms, and things in a rapid progression. It finally stopped on a small mini-drone. Matthew activated it from the tablet on his wrist, and he sent it in the desired direction.

"Watch keenly and be very observant!" Joy warned him.

"Yes, ma'am." he said, retiring.

Joy turned to me and said, "We need to move fast or we will be late." She said,

"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing too; maybe that vehicle coming could be of help." I restored, pointing at an income car from behind us.

"Sure, that's cool." she said.

With a smile on our face, we all turned and headed towards the approaching vehicle, hoping that it would indeed be of help in our mission.

As we reached the car, we saw a young man behind the wheel. He seemed friendly and approachable, so I decided to strike up a conversation. "Hi there! We're on a mission to explore the pyramid. Do you mind giving us a ride?" I asked, trying to sound as polite as possible.

The young man looked at us curiously and then smiled. "Sure, hop in! I happen to be heading in that direction anyway," he replied.

We quickly got into the car, grateful for the relief from the scorching desert sun. As we drove towards the pyramid, I couldn't help but admire the intricate sand dunes and the beauty of the vast desert landscape. It was unlike anything I had ever seen before; let me just call it dry brown nature but the sun is a descending hell, I can't just wait and get things done here and leave this part of the world.

During the drive, the young man introduced himself as Jay Johnson. He mentioned that he had always been intrigued by ancient civilizations and their mysteries. It turned out that he had studied Egyptology in college, which made him the perfect companion for our expedition.

Well, maybe because of our dress style, he doesn't know who we are. We all wear some Egyptian attire and other types of attire to avoid the aliens' eyes above.

Jay Johnson shared his knowledge about the pyramids and Egyptian history, making the journey even more fascinating. We discussed theories and speculated about what secrets might be hidden within the pyramid we were about to explore.

Finally, we arrived at the site where the four elegant spaceships stood near the pyramid. The atmosphere grew even more intense, with an air of mystery surrounding the entire area. We thanked Jay Johnson for his help and bid him farewell before stepping out of the car.

With the mini drone gathering valuable information ahead and the support of our new friend Jay Johnson, we felt confident and ready to uncover the secrets that lay within the ancient structure. But first, we should check to see what those aliens are up to.

"Something is weird about that man, sir; I mean Jay Johnson," Lucia said, moving close to me.

"Why did you say that?" I questioned her.

"When we were on the ride; I found this," Lucia said, showing me a flash drive, and other suspicious things like some ancient symbol stuff with him."

"What's this?" Joy, too, chipped in.

"I sense Jay Johnson has something up his sleeve." I said handing her the drive. "check it when we get to the base."

I turn and face the pyramid. Around the pyramid, thousands of aliens spread beyond numbers. I wrote down nothing in particular before turning to my team, and I felt weak. I felt weak that I didn't have my main friends here except for Joy. This would have been easier; everyone would have known what part to take. Well, to have great protectors in the future, they all need to start from scratch.

"Everyone activate your suit and initiate full weapons." I ordered, and before I could turn around, they were all set. "Seriously!"

"No jokes, please, Mark; this mission needs to be low and perfect, you remember?" Joy reminds me.

" Yeah, I am aware. Now here is it: Joy, Lucia, Jay, and Ryan take it from behind and don't get caught. Me, Lily, and Matthew take it from here." I give them the plan." Is that good enough?"

"Sure!" They all choreographed.

Everyone is about to get dismissed when this deep, thick voice booms through the pyramid landscape, as if the ground doesn't have its own strength anymore, it shakes vigorously." I know you are here! " The voice blared.

With a loud blast, the middle region of the pyramid burst open, releasing great dust into the air. I immediately activated my helmet to stop the dust from choking me off and also put on the Omega sight. Omega sight helps us see through dark, gloomy situations like this current one. It only works with our suit.My team also does theirs. It took approximately five minutes before the dust died down a little.

Walking majestically out of the hole the blast made, this huge alien stands tall on the hole edge with an ethereal glow emanating from his intricately designed battle armor. The armor is composed of advanced nanotechnology, capable of reshaping itself to adapt to any environment. It glistens with mesmerizing colors, enhanced by the scorching sun; it shifts in harmony with his emotions, acting as a visual display of his mental state.

"Who the hell is this?" I muttered.

Not long enough, another being steps out too, holding a glowing object in his hand. I watch as the being hands it over to the one I presume to be their boss.

"Gath!" Joy gasps.

"Gath? Where?" I asked,

"Over there." she said, pointing at the second being who handed over the unknown glowing object.

"Seriously?" I zoomed in closely, and I was shocked to see him again. "

" I thought...": the hulking being interrupted me.

With smugness and confidence, he began to speak, his voice booming across the desert: "I have the power now, and no one can stop me! This world is mine for taking!"

The ground trembles beneath my feet. I turn to my team, and I can tell that they are frightening, except for Joy, whom we have passed through similarities of this. The being raised the artifact high above his head. When I saw it clearly, it was a glowing crystal artifact, more like an alacrity device.

"What is he trying to do with that?" I thought within myself. With what I know, alacrity isn't for good use. Since he already knows we are here, I decided to show up. His men were running towards me with incredible speed, but I didn't flinch; I was always ready for it.

"It's going to be here," the demon in my head came online again, Geo. "At least I won't miss this view."

"Idiot!" I do.

I turn to my team, who are also behind me, and I give them a reassuring face. I gazed at them one after the other, and I could see courage all over them. Just then, Joy began to run towards me.

"Look out!" Joy yelled at me. Before I could comprehend, she and others threw themselves in front of me just as a blast hit, knocking them to the ground.

I was baptized with shock, and my mind froze for a few seconds. I watched as Joy led on the ground, motionless. The blast has knocked them unconscious, and I don't know if they're alive or dead.

I feel a surge of rage and determination as I turn back to face the being and say, "You'll pay for what you've done!" I yelled, my voice echoing across the desert.

The being only laughs and raises his hand to fire another blast. But before he could, I fired my weapon, a beam of energy, towards him. I watch as it blasts on him; the blast didn't have any effect on him, instead he dusts himself off the dust the blast caused.

"Today isn't for fighting, nor have I come to destroy, but to acquire the long-forgotten artifact," he said. "We shall meet soon, but before then, prepare yourselves because it will be doomsday for humans and everything in this plant! Most especially, those you care for."

I watch as a skateboard flies towards him, and they all step on it. It brings them to one of the ships, and they walk in. The same thing happened when his men entered their ships, and off they went back into space.

But some stayed, and I know they are about to fight me with the way they all stride towards me. I stood to my feet, just as predicted, and they began to fire their laser beam. Seeing this, I brought out a device and threw it in the midst of all my unconscious team, and a blue ligh

t shot out, encompassing them to Shield their bodies.

"Now let's party." I said, Bring out my blade.
