Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 Theme: The Black Hole.

Mark POV

Smoke puffing up into the sky, clouding the sun from shining at the same time Everywhere seems gloomy, preventing one from seeing what is ahead, perhaps five meters away. Destructions of buildings are all littered around. Dead aliens spread as far as the eyes could see, with green blood flowing on the ground.

Straying bullets everywhere, no hold back from each side, fighting vigorously to conquer the aliens But no, they keep coming, more and more.

I watch as my team keeps fighting the aliens, everyone performing different skills. The weapons the aliens wield are beyond human understanding; if not for the advancement of my team's suit, they would have been long gone.

Early on, after we apprehended Dr. Pierce, she disclosed their location and their underground location. It is where legions of aliens have been without anyone's understanding.

After that, Dr. Henry appointed my team to handle it and make sure none of them escaped. We nodded.

"She will lead you guys there," Dr. Henry said, pointing to Dr. Pierce, and that is all you could do to retrieve your reputation."

On our jet, Dr. Pierce gave me a pen, which I know is not just a pen.

"What for?" I asked.

"It's an anti-gravity grenade remote control, an explosive device that creates localized anti-gravity fields, causing objects and enemies within the blast radius to float or be repelled away." Dr. Pierce explains

"It's of no use, please; we can't even set it within the space of time given to us," I heard Kaleb say.

"Yeah, I know all that; I never trusted them either." So I planned on destroying them if they failed to fulfill their promise. I already have all that done by installing the anti-gravity Grenadas at the four corners of the lare." Dr. Pierce said

"So what's the plan?" Joy asked.

It's very simple. All you just have to do is follow whatever I'm going to tell you now!"

"And why should we?" Kaleb

She directed her gaze toward me. "I know I don't deserve you guys' trust, but for this last time, just do it," Dr. Pierce pleaded.

"We can't..." Jenny was about to say something when I signed for her to hold it.

Let me hear your plan," I said, looking at her.

"Thanks," she said graciously. "Now here is the plan: Jenny, Marcus, and Kaleb would have to evacuate everyone from the surroundings as soon as you get down approximately 1000 meters away from that," she said, pointing to a 54-story skyscraper building in the middle of the city.

"Mark, Joy, and I would wait here till you are done," she continued. Then Mark would have to activate the anti-gravity Grenadas, and boom! The earth would have to fall on them!"

"That isn't a plan," I said, looking at her. There would be too many for us to stop if they managed to escape.

"Then we have no choice but to fight," she said.

"Well, a bad plan is better than none." Marcus said, talking for the first time on the flight.

I nodded, turning to the rest of the team to give them a reassuring face and bare their heads in respect.

"Brace yourself; we are approaching the ground!" The intercom system said

We landed on the outskirts of the city and quickly made our way towards the designated building. The chaos around us was overwhelming, with explosions and gunfire echoing in every direction. As we approached the skyscraper, Jenny, Marcus, and Kaleb split off to begin evacuating civilians from the area.

Dr. Pierce, Joy, and I waited nervously for their return, watching as the aliens continued to pour out of the underground lair. Dr. Pierce's plan seemed reckless at best, but we had no other options.

I turned to Dr. Pierce and asked, "How did they spot us so fast?" I questioned her.

"Here is their territory; they know every movement of everyone here," she said.

"But you never told us that in the first place!" I said it, forming in anger.

"I know if I told you, you would derive a plan that would take longer, and the risk would keep getting higher if their Lord reached this planet.

My eyes widen instantly. "Their Lord, do you mean the unknown being that we were cautioned about?" I asked in disbelief.

*Yeah," she affirmed.

I gasped

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Jenny radioed in that they had successfully evacuated everyone within a 1000-meter radius. I activated the anti-gravity grenades as Dr. Pierce instructed, and we braced ourselves for impact.

The blast was deafening as everything within a half-mile radius lifted off the ground and began to float away into the sky. The aliens were caught off guard by this sudden turn of events, and many were sucked up into space.

As we emerged from cover to assess the damage, it was clear that Dr. Pierce's plan had worked. The remaining aliens were disoriented and easy targets for our weapons.

I smiled inwardly. My team cheers together.

But the joy vanished instantly when I saw the sky darken; it was as if the eclipse of the sun was starting again.

As I looked up at the darkening sky, a feeling of dread washed over me. This couldn't be happening again. The last time the sun was blocked out like this, it led to the invasion of the aliens.

I turned to Dr. Pierce in panic and asked, "What's happening? Is this another invasion?"

She shook her head, looking just as confused as I was. "I don't know, she said, "but we need to find out."

We quickly made our way towards the source of the darkness, our weapons at the ready. As we got closer, we could see that it wasn't an alien invasion this time; it was something even worse.

A massive black hole appeared in the sky, sucking everything towards it with its powerful gravitational pull. Buildings and cars were being ripped from their foundations and pulled upward into oblivion.

"We have to stop it!" I yelled over the chaos.

"But how?" Joy shouted back.

Dr. Pierce stepped forward with a determined look on her face. "I have an idea, she said, pulling out a small device from her pocket.

"What is that? I asked.

"It's a singularity bomb, " she explained. "It creates a miniature black hole that will counteract the one above us and hopefully close it up."

We all looked at each other nervously. Using a singularity bomb is incredibly risky and could potentially cause even more damage. But we knew we didn't have any other choice.

"Let's do it." I said firmly.

We quickly made our way to the center of town, where the black hole was hovering ominously overhead. Dr. Pierce set up the bomb and activated it, causing a blinding flash of light and a deafening boom.

When we opened our eyes again, we saw that the black hole had disappeared and everything was slowly returning to normalcy.

"Is everyone okay?" I asked frantically, checking on my team members.

My team all nodded. I turned to Dr. Pierce, and she also nodded her head. Not long after, it started once more, and the black hole showed up again. This time, something keeps coming out of it. I zoomed in closely, and I was shocked.

Space ships are coming in, rushing in their numbers towards the east pole of our planet, Earth. Before I could phantom their move, some began to fly towards us, spraying bullets.

Activate the war suit, Geo!" I yelled at the idiot who just kept quiet and watched. I know Geo has something up his sleeve.

"Activation complete, weapons are upgraded; stone withhold!" Geo Said went offline almost immediately.

I ignore him and turn to my team, but they are gone, all split and fighting vigorously with some aliens behind me that I didn't notice.

"Well, let's party!" I said before stretching my hand towards the in-coming ship, my plasma blaster materialized fashion on my hands, releasing plasma balls.

I watch in satisfaction as it goes up, catching two ships off guard. I watch as it blasts the ships in the same way, scattering them in different directions.

A plasma blaster is a handheld energy weapon that fires superheated plasma bolts at enemies. It can be set to different power levels for more controlled or devastating shots.

The rest of them rain down towards me, and I keep firing up, destroying the careless ones it comes in contact with. Soon I was surrounded by hundreds of aliens, all carrying destructive weapons.

I unleashed my quantum blade, glistening blue, and took a fighting stance. I fought till I couldn't feel my hands anymore, but they kept coming, not wanting to give up. Perhaps it's been a while since they were given time like this, they're hungry for this.

When I stood still and watched the damage we had done, I forgot we were still on the battle ground and didn't notice those behind me.

"Behind you!!" Joy shouts at me.

But it was too late; I was hit by one of them, sending me some distance away. I whimpered as I stood on my feet. I tuned to the one that hit, and I saw they were six in number, which was huge compared to the first ones.

With a new straight, I darted at them using my suit phaser, and within some seconds, their heads were already dropping, green blood oozing out.

"Never mess with humans," I said.

I made my way towards my team after I noticed the aliens flying back towards the east of Earth. The look on my team's face shows that they are really exhausted with the way they keep breathing.

"I need everyone here now!" Dr. Henry yelled through our suit intercom before anyone could say anything.

I turned to Marcus and said, "Get the jet." I said as we assess our surroundings at the same time.

The jet came into view, it phased out of the tin air, and

we all walked in feeling exhausted, but I was kind of happy because we were able to get them out of town. The jet took off when we were all in.
