As the first light of dawn filtered through the dense canopy, Lufil stirred awake on his makeshift leaf bed. The gentle rustling of the forest leaves and the distant chirping of birds greeted him, but an unwelcome sensation in his stomach was more pressing. He grimaced, clutching his midsection.
"System," he groaned, "I think that rabbit didn't sit too well. I really need a proper toilet."
The System's voice came through with its usual calm tone. "I'm afraid I cannot provide a physical toilet. The only option available is to utilize the natural environment for such needs."
Lufil's eyes widened in alarm. "Are you serious? No way am I doing that. What if a creature comes along and—" He shuddered at the thought. "I can't risk a wild animal taking a bite while I'm, you know, indisposed."
The System responded with a hint of patience. "This is a natural process and part of adapting to your new environment. However, I understand your discomfort. You should try to make it as private as possible."
Lufil was not convinced. "Come on, System. There has to be another way. This is a huge inconvenience. Can't you do something to help?"
After a brief pause, the System's voice returned. "Very well, Lufil. As a special consideration, I can provide a basic privacy barrier for this purpose. This will be the only instance where such a request is accommodated."
A notification popped up in Lufil's vision, displaying a rudimentary privacy barrier. It was essentially a basic setup, with a few leafy screens that would at least partially obscure him from view.
Lufil stared at the screen, his face a mix of relief and exasperation. "Thanks, I guess. But this still feels weird. It's not exactly the height of comfort."
"I understand," the System said, attempting to reassure him. "It's a temporary solution to help you adjust."
Lufil grumbled as he set up the makeshift privacy barrier among the bushes. He found a spot where he could at least have some semblance of privacy, though the area was still far from ideal. As he tried to navigate the situation, he couldn't help but feel a bit absurd. The thought of a wild animal approaching while he was in such a vulnerable position was enough to make him nervous.
He managed to complete the task, though not without some difficulty and a fair amount of discomfort. As he emerged from behind the barrier, he noticed a peculiar smell wafting in the air. He wrinkled his nose and looked around, trying to identify the source.
"Ugh, what's that smell?" he muttered, glancing around. "Is it me, or is something else going on?"
The System, ever perceptive, chimed in. "It appears you've inadvertently created a rather noticeable scent. It's a common issue when in the wild. You may want to move away from this area to avoid attracting unwanted attention."
Lufil's face turned red with embarrassment as he realized the source of the odor. He quickly gathered his things and moved away from the spot, making sure to leave no trace of his uncomfortable morning routine.
As he moved deeper into the forest, he couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of his situation. "Great, just what I needed—a stinky start to the day. I'm living the dream, aren't I?"
The System, with its ever-present tone of subtle humor, responded, "It's all part of the adventure, Lufil. You're adapting to your new environment, and these experiences will only make you more resilient."
Lufil laughed despite himself. "Yeah, yeah. I suppose it's better than dealing with a hungry predator. Thanks for the privacy barrier, System. I owe you one."
"You're welcome," the System replied, sounding faintly amused. "Remember, it's all part of the journey. The more you adapt, the easier it will become."
With a mix of relief and humor, Lufil continued his exploration of the forest, determined to make the best of his new life while keeping a wary eye out for any further inconveniences.
