Chapter 9 - (Interlude) Realm

POV: ???

As I sat in my chair listening to the other eight people. I marveled at the luscious throne room with rows of marbled pillars lined with blue diamond rings. A gold carpet rolled down the center of the floor with four thrones on either side. My throne is in the back center of the rows.

The conversation began when we received a report that one of our abyssals had failed.

"What! The Prodigy One Lives?"

"How did he survive, I thought you sent your Abyssal Byuke to take care of him, Achelios?"

"How will you explain yourself for this failure!"

"Calm down, Håkon now is not the time to get all flustered."

"The boy may have survived but he is no mere threat to us, not anymore since he used most of his powers to return to his past."

"That is true Kyser, but we must remain vigilant in the case he becomes capable."

"I say we bring your abyssal before us and have him tell us what exactly happened. Wouldn't you agree to this Valeria?"

"Yes, I concur with that statement!"

Byuke Kassian

As I returned to the dazzling city of Luminaura with its pearl whiteness marbled buildings that are bathed in perpetual twilight with soft, radiating light emanating from each structure. The architecture glows with a gentle luminescence of crafted gold crystalizing material that glistens like the stars on a clear black sky. In the heart of Luminaura stands the Aetherium, an immense palace with two towers spiraling towards the sky as if reaching for the sun itself, grand bridges connecting the two towers every few increments. The walls of each tower are adorned with the crest of each Aetherian God.

Gardens filled with plants that shimmer in pastel hues stretch across the city, and streams of liquid light flowing like rivers, casting a serene awe that leaves everyone breathless. The wide city streets made with a polished starlight filled with the other eight races.

After finishing my amazement at the sight of the Aetherium and its scene around it I made my way to the fearing palace itself knowing that a punishment awaited me after failing my mission to eliminate the little boy. When I was transported out of the ancient portal that is hidden and that is only opened to us since the protection seal on the Mortal Realm was weakening at the time.

The Gods thought it only reasonable to send one of the Abyssals to eliminate the boy since I was the one who sealed part of his powers when he was young and captured by mere mortal slavers and after sending one of my vessels to do the job of sealing so he wouldn't become an obstacle for our gods plan to rewrite the universe.

Reaching the giant bustling doors of the towering palace that stood at least five feet taller than my height. The doors opened with a loud boom and two of the Abyssals walked out to escort me to the Nine Gods. To my right was Alexander Liber and to my left was Lukas Maiar.

Alexander stood a little shorter than me, his short black hair swept to the side. His dark azure eyes gave me a piercing gaze as he looked at me disappointedly. Lukas who stood to my left was shorter than Alexander his long platinum blonde hair that was pulled back into a sharp ponytail, his topaz eyes looking forward never glancing at me.

As we walked down the long spacious hall, a sharp husky voice that came from Lukas said "So you manage to fail and embarrass the rest of us, Abyssals. The great Byuke Kassian the number one ranked abyssal failing." He said with an angered sneer.

I turned to look at him, my translucent white eyes glaring as I listened to his provocation, and then I retorted back "You better watch yourself Lukas, remember you were nothing more than a mere speck living on the streets your lucky I found you and recognized your talent, I can end your life with a snap of my fingers." I said with a wry grin.

Lukas turned back to face forward while side glaring at me. I continued while still smiling "Oh don't want to reply?" I laughed. Alexander just stayed quiet as we reached the door to the throne room of the Gods.

The door opened with a grace making no sounds and a bright light shining through the crack as the door kept opening. Once the door opened I walked through the door, walking on gold carpet rolled out down the center of the room as I made my way to be just before reaching the thrones. I got down to one knee placing my right hand on my left chest bowing, I heard a voice coming from the center throne.

"Ah Byuke Kassian of the Covenant Race, first-ranked Abyssal." The voice said

He then continued, while still bowing.

"You have failed in eliminating the Prodigy One Byuke. After reading the report I want to hear your account of the mission, you may raise your head and reply." He finished

I lifted my head still on one knee, replaying the scene of when I went to kill the Prodigy One.

"After entering the dimension portal here I descended through the dimension portal to the mortal realm in what looked like a dungeon. When I stepped out of the dimension portal there were elemental beasts, a mixture of claw wolves, four-eyed vulpines. When they noticed me they attacked me and I wasted no time slaying them.

I reached the outside and flew towards the presence of the Prodigy One, I spotted him and his companion so I landed and unsheathed my sword. I caught her by surprise, thrusting my sword right through the mortal female chest and her heart was at the tip of my sword, her blood slowly flowing down. The boy turned around his face full of shock and had a look of fear in his eyes which made me feel all giddy seeing his despair. After that, I appeared behind him but right when I was about a dome of shadows enveloped the boy and he disappeared before." I finished replaying my account.

The gods sitting on their thrones looked like they were contemplating what I said, some were full of shock. But the one that stood at the center of the row of Gods … he was resting his chin on his left hand looking down at me with a blank expression. Then he smiled and said, "Alright Byuke I understand it seems like there was a third party involved in this so I'm willing to give you a second chance."

I bowed again and said "Yes I shall not fail again"

"However since the mortal realm went back in time the seal on it remains stronger now. There's a big enough crack in it so you will have to return there using one of your human vessels with minimal powers and reseal the Prodigy One again. Do not fail me this time, remember your position can be replaced." He said in a baritone voice and a menacing smile.
