---------------------------------
In the town of Mirabelle, I found myself standing among giants.
Figuratively and literally.
Being only two years old, my height barely reached the waist of most of the seasoned warriors, but that didn't deter me.
We trained inside the Adventurers Guild, making sure no one is able to sneak at learn of our training, closing the doors of our training hall.
Day in and day out, we trained our body and minds.
I could barely throw a stone 3 meters away, but I learned that if I focused all my chi to my right shoulder and arm and infuse magic energy to the stone, my attacks strength and distance double. After 5 days of throwing, the stone would dig deep into the wooden dummies which the team find fascinating.
Each throw of a stone was stronger than the last. At first, the stones fell to the ground with a pathetic thud, almost laughable to anyone watching. And laugh they did, as Merci and his team watched me with amused grins, shaking their heads at my seemingly futile attempts.
"The smallest stone," I said, "can change the course of a battle."
My words were met with silence at first. I wasn't sure if they understood, but then I saw something shift in their eyes. That quiet pause, that moment of reflection—it was everything.
"Fear not a person who learns five tricks in a day, but fear the one who has mastered one trick over a thousand days." I said to them.
It wasn't just something I believed; it was the truth I wanted them to embrace.
They listened. Everyone—Merci, his team, my family—all seemed to sense that wisdom went beyond brute strength. That's when they began to absorb what I was teaching. A warrior who masters one skill can defeat many who spread themselves thin.
It wasn't long before my father, mother, and even Vi shifted their training routines. Father had been honing his battle aura and fire-enhancing sword skills, Mother her healing and growth abilities, and Vi her light magic and peacekeeper martial arts. But after our conversation, they focused more intently on mastering the fundamentals.
Father's focus was now on refining his fire-enhanced swordsmanship to absolute perfection. Every swing of his blade was like a dance—fluid, precise, and powerful.
I could tell his fire aura was becoming something more than just an enhancement; it was becoming a weapon in its own right.
Mother, ever gentle and serene, poured her efforts into mastering healing. I could feel her energy pulsing with greater strength every day, and her growth magic was beginning to accelerate the recovery of nature and people alike.
Vi trained tirelessly in the Peacekeeper martial arts, running, climbing, jumping, and somersaulting with such ease that she seemed almost weightless.
Her movements were swift, deliberate, and, most importantly, efficient.
Yet, even in their dedication, I reminded them of the lesson I had spoken: focus on one skill at a time.
They heeded my advice, switching their focus to perfecting their peacekeeper training. instead, as they believe that training their bodies with the peacekeeping ways would be better for them.
Agility, endurance and stamina were at the core of peacekeeper arts, making it an ideal foundation for all other abilities.
Along with it, they chose to concentrate on ball whip attacks, an art that seemed simple at first but became deadly with precision.
I could see their progress as they practiced hitting targets with the whips—launching stones into the air for added difficulty and hitting them.
Each strike became faster, more accurate, more deadly.
Merci and his group joined us in our regimen. Despite their initial mockery, they began adopting the peacekeeper ways.
In many ways, their Flip martial arts were already similar—quick, fast strikes, long-range attacks, evasion, and agility.
But now, their attacks were faster, their movements more efficient. They now run twice as long as before as they switched their diet to 80 percent meat, 20 percent beans.
They are now more capable in sustaining themselves in prolonged battles. Royce, who was a vegetarian before, had taken on our dietary habits, eating with us and joining in on the grueling training. His thin arms became muscular and lean, his body lean full of energy and vigor after switching diet. He says he will be switching to fish and beans in the future, as he detests eating animals that cry. Royce is a big softie at heart.
For two long weeks, we trained in secret within the Adventurers Guild's halls, making sure no one else could see our progress. By the end of it, we were different people.
Most of us had become thinner, leaner, and significantly stronger. Well, most of us at least.
I remained just a kid, but even I could feel the changes in my body.
Our bodies had reached the maximum level of strength and agility for our current levels.
Without leveling up, there was no further growth to be had. It was time to take the next step.
The acid-spitting Leirgas had been terrorizing the region for some time now. It was an elusive beast—dangerous, intelligent, and nearly impossible to track down. After our training, we felt ready. I could feel the excitement and anticipation building up in everyone. We had honed our skills to the limit, strengthened our bodies, and learned from each other's wisdom. Since these Leirgas are fast and has acid attacks, we will be attacking them from a distance, using paralyzing toxins, ropes and bolas to restrain them.
Our task was clear: we would hunt the Leirgas, and we would put everything we had learned to the test. It would not be an easy task, but nothing worth achieving ever was.
I felt the weight of responsibility fall upon me—not just as the youngest member of our group, but as someone who had guided them toward a greater understanding of themselves.
I knew that my journey was only beginning, and that more trials awaited us. But together, as one family, one team, we will persist and survive.
