Albert assessed the situation.
They cannot defeat their enemies and more of them are coming in. There should be allies who would back them up as well, but with the mob behind them, they won't be able to help.
He whistled. John heard the signal and understood. He would sacrifice himself for the others to survive.
They would need to make a run for it, they just need the front gate opened for them. He just hopes that their other team members within the walls are able to sneak in to the gate locks and release it.
The front gate started opening. They did it!
Seeing this, the other team members joined together as one.
Patrice threw a smoke bomb in front of Carl while threw smoke bombs as well in front of Felix and Chiz. They covered their faces and retreated to where the smoke cannot reach. Who knows if it's poisonous.
"Damned cowards!" He shouted.
"Whoever captures one of them, I will give 10 gold coins!" Chiz said.
The mob, emboldened with what they heard, grappled and restrained the guards, as a dozen was able to slip through.
They all had long range non lethal weapons: blow darts, bolas, ropes, paralyzing bombs. They barraged the Alpha teams with them. Hoping to get one of them.
The Alpha team evaded like circus performers doing what they can to not be hit. The attacks were non stop but they were able to run to the horses.
John ran towards the pursuing mob and shouted. "To God be the Glory!"
John then opened his long coat, showing a dozen glass containers in it. He then threw the glass bottles to the mob, which broke in the ground and releases a cloud of gas.
The mob tried to run but it is no use. John threw the bottles in a wide area, which would even reach him. He stood there with a mask on, but he knew that he only has a few seconds left before he pass out as well. This gas can also be absorbed through the skin.
This is the end.
"Men! Move! Don't let them go away!" Chiz said.
They covered their faces with masks as they pass through the smoke. After passing the smoke, they saw a lone man standing in front of them who threw glass bottles at them."
"Retreat back to the smoke and to the other side!"
They went back to where they came from.
"I can't believe this disaster!" Chiz shouted after removing his mask.
"Carl, I order you to destroy the Carriages. Leave none of them alive." Chiz said. If they do not want the Church mercy, then none will be given to them!"
"We will launch you high up to the top of that house over there and then use the exploding crossbow that you have with you. That should take care of them."
"Yes sir!" Carl replied.
Chiz and Felix held each of Carl's feet on each side while squatting and with great strength, threw Carl into the air like a cannon ball.
Carl did a somersault in the air, successfully landing at the top of the house. He then position himself to the highest point.
"Damn, this roof is sloped and steep. No matter, I'll get all of you." Carl smiled as he saw Albert and the others boarding the horses.
"Your dead!" He shot his crossbow, releasing 3 exploding bolts.

They won't let us go away that easily. They have a Crowe assassin on their team." Patrice said to Albert. "Everyone! Watch out for arrows!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
"The carriages are hit! Put out the fires and lets get out of here quickly. John will make a way!"
"Yes sir!" They wet some rags and started putting out the fires. Lucky that no one was hit and the horses were fine. Their luck may run out soon.
They need to get out of here quickly as they are sitting ducks here.
Let's hope John makes a way for them.
"Men! Put the horses masks on! We make a run for it!" He shouted.

John looks at the gate. The gate is fully opened now and all he needs to do is to make way for the carriage to go through. He took the last remaining bottles of paralyzing gas that he has and threw it to the crowd.
The crowd dispersed after they saw the bottles breaking in the ground and releasing some fumes.
John, with the last of his strength, pulls out a syringe and sticks it into his neck.
"Glory be to God!"
He fell down to the ground, unmoving.
