Chapter #3
"You saved the day and apprehended captain cold with ease. And what's up with those tattoos. They are so damn cool." Wally quipped.
"Oh thank you men." I said while blushing a little for the compliment.
" What do you say about joining a league of young heroes?. We could use a guy like you in our arsenal." Wally asked me while placing his hand on my shoulder as a gesture of trying to win me over.
I thought about it for some time and I reasoned about the kind offer. I would surely fight a bunch of evil criminals and in addition I get to enjoy a free room and food for free.
I agreed to the offer and he seemed overjoyed by it.

(Batman's pov)
"I don't see any of his records in the system. Just who is this kid. His a ghost and I sense his not from our world either.
I will definitely have to keep a close look on him. Robin is certainly fit for the job on my behalf." He thought as he looked at a picture of a young teenager kid on the watch tower screen.
The young heroes were all rounded up at the Mount justice hall to welcome the new teammate to the crew.
"Everyone, meet Darren. He will be your new teammate. You can all show him around and welcome him to the team. Aqualad." Batman concluded as he signalled to Aqualad.
I could feel his gaze all over me as he seemed suspicious of me. For all he knew I could be an agent of the light sent to exploit the team from inside.
When flash said I be allowed to join the team, batman inquired for a test of my abilities at Star labs. I complied easily but I limited myself to displaying a small fraction of what my powers.
But I guess it was to be expected of Batman not trust anyone, that is his nature and I really commended him for it. Of all the league member's his the one I wanted to keep a distance from, at least for now.
"Damn his quiet hot and handsome. I would want him all over me." Artemis complemented from the side lines as Aqualad and the other team boys welcomed me.
"Yeah you are right." Megan added her own opinion.
"Welcome to the team Darren. I know it will be an honor to fight side by side by you." Aqualad said in a tone of camaraderie as we shaked hands.
"I can't accept you that easily to the team. How about a test of strength to the training ground. You and me." Connor said as he seemed irritated by something. Maybe I guess he overheard the girls complementing my good looks, especially Megan which got him pissed off.
"Connor, this is not how we treat our new team mate. Calm down." Robin tried to convince Connor.
"No there is no problem with that. Look at it as more of a way to win your trust by displaying my abilities to you." I chimed in the conversation interrupting Robin and Connor's conversation.
"So you are a battle maniac huh!" Robin stated. I tried to deny it by waving my hands as I laughed it off in a funny way to hide the truth which resulted in him sighing.
He accepted at last after he saw the magnitude of the situation shifting.
I was now standing a few meters away from Connor as we faced each other. Our eyes locked and my mood and aura shifted to a serious one. I was gonna shine with the punching truck of the team on a go.
"Why are you smirking pretty boy? Does this seem funny to you. Am gonna crush that face of yours." Connor debarked as he charged forward with a battle cry.
He threw his right punch at me but I blocked it with my left hand. His left fist was almost mere inches from my cheek but I evaded it by leaning on the sideways. There was now an opening as I delivered two jabs on his face pushing him backwards.
I activated my Karma seal to increase more power.
"You sure do have some temper tantrums. If you keep up with that, no girl is going to fall for you?" I mockingly said.
"What do you know?"
Connor was easy to trick and he fell for it.
He was stepping heavily towards me with me for an attack with boiling with anger like an erupting volcano.
I exploited opportunity I had awaited for by evading his assault and conjured a rasengan which sent him huffling back crashing with the walls of the cave.
His upset mindedness became his primary weakness from the beginning, not tolerating to access the concept of the situation and take it uphold was key factor I found lacking on him.
"Connor! Are you okay?" Megan rushed to Connor's side after my attack had humiliated him. But still he got to see that the girl he had fallen for cared about him than anything.
" Wow your abilities are kinda of a mystic arts to me. Is that magic you just used?" Robin asked weary of my abilities.
I guess even if I detailed it to them it would be hard for them to fathom my abilities. So I just shrugged of the question and postponed it to another time.
Artemis was in charge of showing me to my room which she took as an opportune moment to get to know me better.
"This is your room and down the hallway there is the kitchen. If you ever feel perturbed, that's your hall." Artemis pointed in a certain direction as she turned and gazed me with a wry smile.
"Thank you." I mouthed.
"No worries as long you can treat me to dinner handsome?"
"I guess that's for another time."
"See you later at archer." I ended our conversation as I entered my room.
"Did he just thwart on me?" Artemis said rhetorically.
The room was well arranged with everything in right order. It blended well with nice cosy bed on the side of the room. I sat down to. the spongy mattress and called out the system.
I remember I spotted something to do with a training course on the system.
"Training course activated"
"Choose your current opponent." The system requested.
" Igris." I woefully inquired with a stupified look on my face.
I could not fathom of this 'current opponent thing'.
" System has received."
In a matter of few seconds, there was a dazzling light which radiated like the sun covering the whole room as I squinted my eyes with my hands locked on my forehead.
Then I opened them and I was in some kinda of a room supported by colossus pillars at every certain interval.
I recognized the room then at the end on my front was some kind of a throne.
There was a knight at the side with an icon floating on his head.
He wore a full well fledged armour which would take a tough weapon to even dent it.
"Igris the knight who protects the empty throne." A deep voice resonated from my mouth as I smirked with malevolent anticipation.
