( rough ver )
i walk threw the rotting diner and the interior was surely something?
a mural of all the animals i knew in the world. and some i didnt. except they where painted in a beatrix potter cartoon animal painting. the style was a mix gouche and acrylics. it was a picture of all of them building a city together. but it was overwritten by grafiti. made from red paint the bucket was dried out next to the wall it looked like it had been here for a longtime. the words said LIES LIES THEY BROKE THEIR PROMISE TO US. THEY ATE US!
it kinda felt demented. and made me feel uncomfortable. the word where written so hectically. like the person who wrote it felt genuine distress. maybe the cartoon animals where symbolic of the different peoples in our world? or maybe it was his favorite franchise cartoon that got ruined by a modern reboot.
rip. bro. i know the pain. thank you random guy who was probably a hobo for making me not feel alone in hating the new starwars.
the rooms in the diner where an old kitchen. a lounge area. and a garage.
the kitchen was weird it had a ton of old defunct brands. and alot of them where in this old 1950s style or maybe 70s? i dont know furniture brands and appliance date productions very well. im more of a gun kind of guy.
the food had all been picked baren. someone had broken in before me. but that was a long time ago. it seems they took the knives. the can food. the microwave and battery of the fridge. since it was tipped side ways and had a large chunk of its back missing. the floor was filthy filled with some sort of various colored rotting sauces and dirty water. and some bits of bone. it was really gross and i almost vomited seeing how many flys there where.
there was a menu but wat was weird is how it had bugs on the menu. and it didnt have any meat like beaf or pork but it still had chicken and fish. but the fish was all weird science text book fish. the type youd see in the past. Coelacanth but specifically freshwater type called mawsonia. thats weird? was there even freshwater big fish like that here? maybe in the past but notday. maybe it just ment big fish and it was some creative way the diner named for big fish that tasted old. the world of marketing inedible food was not above such things.
the lounge was weird. there was normal sized chairs. but then there was a giant one in the side of the room like way too big even for a fat guy that was 500 pounds big. it was so out of place. and then i saw the small couches the size of a tiny dog. maybe they where for pets? but then there was also a tiny remote for the tv in the side of the room with a brick thrown into it. and all its electronics gutted. i reached over and flip the remote. batteries gone. the seets where rotting and filled with moths just flying around. they looked weird they where alot bigger then i was used too but nothing i havent seen before. just weird seeing so many of them in one place. they where the size of half my hand. but their googley eyes appeased my current paranoid mood.
one landed close to my leg but i look down and it was actually on a coffee table with newspapers. there was some rhino on it. like an actual rhino cartoon in a suit. he looked angry. it was dated 2010. outbreak has spread to all neighboring states it had as the headline the remaining paragraphs under it detailed about how they will no longer be recieving people from the outside and that curfew was in effect. and all fevers and coughs where to be reported to the police for rapid response.
i frowned. damn i forgot how common outbreaks where even back in 2010. i guess this is some form of satire having the white guy be a rhino. or maybe the guy who owned this place just liked cartoons. well the art style was certainly more on the realism side. with detailed shadows and tones even on the black and white newspaper. wat got me was how detailed the backgrounds where. or how the news agencys microphones in the front had every bit of the mics foam drawn. talk about dedication? but the faces still remained cartoony. big expressive wide eyes that glittered. and humanoid faces that felt more humorous and comforting then uncanny and gross like those other 3d renders where. it felt all hand drawn. like the person was seeing the world threw the lens of a 2d animator.
it would be cool to live in a cartoon world like that. but by the looks of it the one the owner of this diner imagined for himself. was not a very happy one. it seemed to have as many problems as the world we lived in. which completely destroyed escapism or even powerfantasy people retreat into literature for. well unless its eastern european novels. those are just as sad. as well. eastern europe.
finally the weirdest part. as i approached somewhere near the exit. i saw the garage. the garage had a big metal hole in its door. covered up by a plank of wood like a makeshift hatch. but that wasnt the weird part. the weird part was. the car.
the car had its parts stripped. but the parts that remained where the weird part. it had its engine and wheels missing. but its body the hull of the car was made of wood. carved wood. finely engraved and designed like a expensive table. the doors where mostly missing but one door remained on the passenger side in the front. it was some ornate wooden luxury thing. i had no idea why they would make a car this way. its interior was a bit weird but not that much. its cushion seets where rotting away with water damage and moss. the radio had been ripped out and so have the breaks. but pedals looked so finely crafted wat was weird was they where all in the shape of paws. each one was shaped like a specific paw probably a canine of some sort. it was strange cuz it wasnt a animalistic paw it had been stretched out like a human foot.
this place felt weirder then it already was. i had a bad feeling this wasnt some waking dream and i wasnt hallucinating. i look at the hatch and begin opening it. and going outside. i was at the otherside of the diner. filled with trash and other misc scrap like broken signs and oil barrels. i looked around and began making my way around there was a metal fence with some tarp covering it. it had some holes being chewed on by the moths. i look for a thing to stand on. and find an old coca cola holder box. to put under my feet as i hall myself up. i havent seen anyone around me in about an hour. there where no cars in the other lane or my lane when i was driving or after i went inside.
which made it even weirder. when i finally heard the familiar roar of an engine. a car driving very quickly on the same road i had came in but in the opposite direction. so? i wasnt in a time loop. i breath a sigh of relief but then. the car circled around. and stopped next to mine. and 2 figures got out.
WOAH! a unlooted car! who the hell left this here!.
oh. im screwed. i dead panned.
