Chapter 6 - Round One, Fight (Part 3)

Logan didn't greet his rescuers. Instead, as soon as his hands were free, brought up the inventory and used a Medkit to heal his hands as the pain was still unbearable.

[You have used a Medic Kit (Low)]

[Your fracture has successfully healed. 60 HP was restored.]

Within moments of using the kit, his hands were back to normal. The pain wasn't there anymore, but the trauma had left a mental scar on him.

He knew these prisoners would be weird, but now he had got to experience it firsthand. One could say he wasn't a fan of the treatment he got.

As much as he wanted to get back at that Marco guy, he couldn't. Neither he was stronger enough to face him, nor did he have the time to chase after him.

The zombies would find them sooner than later, especially after all the commotion they had created. He needed to get out of there first. But not before thanking his saviors first.

He turned to face them for the first time, but rather than their appearance, he was more interested in the classes they had picked.

The way she used pebbles to her advantage, she must have chosen the Gunslinger class.

Logan thought before turning towards Snake, who was busy checking the pockets of the fallen.

And he should have picked the Blocker class. What an interesting duo.

"Thank you for saving me," Logan mumbled and turned to leave, but since they had saved him.

However, as he was leaving, his conscience didn't allow him to leave without giving them some kind of reward.

"Here, this is all I have."

Izna saw him handing over the remaining med kit, but rather than accepting it, she burst out laughing. Logan immediately took a couple of steps back, thinking she was going to attack him as well. Instead, she pushed the medkit back towards him.

"Look, I know you don't have a reason to trust someone like me, but I genuinely saved your butt just because I wanted to." She said with a smile.

She continued, "However, if you still want to pay us back, maybe you could help us get through the tutorial? Honestly speaking, we do not know what we are doing here."

Logan stared at her with perplexed eyes. He tried to figure out what was going on inside her head, but he couldn't. Izna seemed genuinely sincere with her request and didn't have a tinge of maliciousness on her face.

"Also, if we band together, no one would have the balls to do what they did to you ever again. Both of us will benefit from this, don't you agree?"

Izna urged even more, "We'll protect you and you can teach us the way of survival. What do you say? I can even... do a little something to help you in other ways, if you know what I mean."

How was it not possible to know what she meant while she stared at him as if she was going to swallow him alive? The look on her face was of a luscious succubus, not of an angel, as she was trying to make him believe.

"As much as I would love to indulge in your hobbies, I'll have to pass on the latter half of your proposal," Logan replied while summoning all his willpower to look away from the valley of lust Izna was not so subtly showing him. "But I will help you clear the tutorial and teach you what I know, as thanks for saving me."

Saying so, he began walking away from her and Snake, leaving the lady astounded, as it was the first time someone had turned her down. That too in such a cruel way.

"They... had nothing..." Snake hissed. "What... happened?"

"I just found an interesting boy, that's all." She shrugged her shoulders, "Let's go."

A few minutes later...

"What are you looking for, exactly?" Izna asked Logan while he scavenged every box in his sight.

"You'll understand it when I find it." Logan replied, not bothering to say anything else, "It has to be here somewhere..."

They were inside a rundown building that appeared to have been some kind of abandoned warehouse. It was also one of the spots where a hidden cache was kept. The only problem was that there were hundreds of boxes and Logan's memory was hazy.

It was to be expected, as it had been years since he had cleared the tutorial with a perfect score. So far, he had been through dozens of boxes, but with no luck.

Normally, he wouldn't have taken his sweet time to find the box, but since Izna and Snake were there to watch his back, he could take time to find what he was looking for.

"Got it!" Logan exclaimed. "Now let's hope I can find a melee weapon or two..."

[You have found: Medical Kit (Low) x1]

[You have found: Scrap Metal x3]

[You have found: Scrap Metal Kukri (Blueprint) x1]

[The cache has been emptied.]

"Yes!" Logan was so happy he threw a punch in the air.

"Weak... Punch..." Snake whispered in Izna's ear, who couldn't help but smile at her partner's words.

"There's no denying he is weak," Izna whispered back. "But I have a feeling it wouldn't be the case for long."

None of them said a word to Logan, who immediately sat down and began doing what a creationist would do best, create things.

__

Please select a blueprint you want to learn:

> Scrap Metal Gun (7 Intelligence required.)

> Scrap Metal Kukri (5 Intelligence required.)

__

"As much as I want to learn and craft the gun, I don't have enough materials for it." Logan mumbled to himself. "I'll have to go with the Kukri for now."

Logan selected the Metal Kukri option, and another notification popped up in front of him.

__

You have successfully memorized the Tier one blueprint: Scrap Metal Kukri.

You can now use the to assemble the mentioned weapon.

Cost: 2 scrap metals.

Time to craft: 1 second. (Crafting is 50% faster with User's 10+ INT.)

__

While Logan was busy crafting the weapon, Izna and Snake thought they heard some kind of movement outside. Izna nodded, signaling Snake to peek out of the window to check. What he saw outside got him all tensed up.

"Fourteen zombies... heading... here," he hissed in his low voice. "Could be... more..."

"Logan, we got company and I'm out of pebbles to attack them or send them into some other direction. Are you listening-" When she didn't receive a response, she turned around to look for him but couldn't find him anywhere. "Shit, where is he?"

"There..." Snake pointed at the zombies and there he was, walking straight towards the undead.

"That fucker! Has he lost his mind?" Izna cursed through her gritted teeth, "Come on, we got to get that idiot out of there."

However, before Izna could jump out of the window, Snake grabbed her arm.

"What are you doing?" Izna glared at him, but he calmly replied to her.

"Look... his hands..."

"What on earth are you pointing at—wait, are those knives?"

The zombies were slow and unintelligent creatures that were driven by their hunger. This made their actions highly predictable. If one had a suitable weapon for the task, it was also easy to pierce through their rotten flesh.

On top of that, Logan familiar with their move sets, all thanks to spending hours grinding to achieve the perfect score in the tutorial.

"There's no need to run from them anymore," Logan mumbled, and dove headfirst into the horde of zombies. "For now, it's time to get those experience points and stat points."

Slash!

He aimed at the head of the nearest zombie and swung his blades with all his might. Although he didn't have enough strength on his own to do much other than tickle the zombies, attacking them using two kukris was a different tale entirely.

In one swift move, Logan severed the head of the zombie.
